10 Upcoming Designers To Watch Out For At Bridal Asia 2016!

BY Latha Sunadh | 28 Jul, 2016 | 4479 views | 5 min read

It's that time of the year again. The time when you sit down and make a big blueprint of exhibitions you need to attend to prep for your wedding. But the big momma of them all is here - Bridal Asia 2016 is in Mumbai from August  10th to 12th at the NSCI and we are happy to let you know that we are collaborating with this showcase this year. *Jumping with joy! And we realised (to our glee) that this year Bridal Asia is teaming up with some super chic contemporary labels. Gorgeous stuff guys. So here are the seven new bridal wear designers we are going Ga Ga over!

Cherie D

Cherie D The label used to be stocked at Ensemble since 5 years and now slowly, Cherie D has dominated the bridal market with her own minimalistic design sensibilities. This London-based designer Sherina Dalamal is known to design beautiful couture pieces that come with western sensibilities. Perfect for a Mehendi or a Sangeet, her lehengas and pre-stitched saris are super popular and gorg! Look at her cocktail gowns and her pastel-hued kurtis if you're looking for a more simpler look.

Nadine Dhody

The designer works with interesting hues like lilac and beige and embroideries that are modern and wearable. She's mostly known for her light lehengas and evening-appropriate embroidered dresses. Right from chikankari to lace to tulle and georgette - there is something for everyone in her label.

Warp ‘n’ Weft  by Sagarika

There are Benaras Saris, Odhnis & Fabrics in natural yarns of silks, chiffons and cottons at this quaint store at Marine Lines, Mumbai and now they're available to you at the Bridal Asia showcase. The label works towards promoting and reviving the fabric and keeps the weaves trendy and contemporary.

Shilpa Morakhia

shilpa Intricate embroideries to fall for, Shilpa Morakhia's bridal best is just the thing you need to stay bold on your d-day. Her work is impeccable and her craftsmanship very popular with brides and their families. She makes sure her Kashmiri embroidery and elegant floral designs catch the eye of the bride who wants to keep it subtle and simple. Perfect for poojas and small events and you should check out her bright-hued palette too.

Rashi Kapoor

Her embroideries are intricate and her colour combinations, unique. What's more beautiful are the fits and silhouettes - the designer makes sure the fabric works with your body shape.

Amrita Thakur

Bridal asia designers Amrita Thakur's collections are super refreshing and come in fun colours, minimalistic embroidery nad effortless styling. The way Amrita bridges tradition with contemporary elements is commendable. Most of her pieces retain an old-worldly charm and are designed for the woman who likes to keep her look sentimental and trendy at the same time. Her colour palette is so easy on the eye and we are in love with her hand-embroidered sequin work. She also works with applique and brocade and fabrics range from chiffon to chanderi and everything in between.

Devnaagri

We love the pastel hues and the sequin work, especially light pieces for the new-age bride. We are absolutely in love with the way they worked with purple and toned it down to create new ideas. Their blouses are known for their intricate detailing and exquisite jewellery and we like the fact that they are lightweight!

Vineti Bolaki

Bridal asia designers1 This one's a label fit for a cocktail dress or a simple Mehendi outfit - the detailing is subtle and embroidery minimal. The label Vineti Bolaki is known for its modern take on traditional clothing - say hello to crop tops, pajama pants, toga dresses and sweet dhoti pants. The colours are muted - think lilacs and neutrals and once in a while, there are a few bright hues they work with like jewel-tones and bottle greens.

Nakul Sen

Pearl-embellished and sequin saris are his biggest draw and we are glad to see black play a big role in his colour scheme. His kurtas and palazzos are perfect for small gatherings and his jackets are just what you need to stay on the right side of style at your wedding.
