5 Brides Who Did Something Unique For Their Pandemic Staycation Wedding To Make It Even More Fun!

BY Sakshi | 25 Nov, 2020 | 457 views | 3 min read

COVID has been a party pooper in every way possible, but we love how couples are still going ahead and planning their weddings despite all odds. Couples are taking extra measures to ensure safety of themselves and their guests at their wedding, and we love how some of them take a step beyond too to make everything comfortable and more for their guests- turning the staycation wedding to a vacation too!

Everyone got their dogs to the wedding!

Nainika says, "I am mom to a little fur baby, and I couldn’t marry without having him around so my family and friends had their dogs at our wedding which was soo much fun. My style of wedding was royal, with loads of colours but at the same time, fun and laid back."

Rented a beach villa for a sundowner with just friends

Dhanya says, "For our final hurrah with our friends, we got them all together at a cute beach villa.. Vikram and I wanted to share everything we loved about the city with our friends most of whom had traveled far to be with us.. we picked some themes that we loved the most - chettinad food, dancing, and cricket. We wanted to see exchange vows and this event felt like the perfect setting to do so! The day was confetti at its best - perhaps the best memory from the whole wedding for me.. icing on the cake was that we danced away on the roof as the sun went down!"

A private pool for each guest in their room

Arpita says, "I could not have imagined a better venue than what we chose. And the icing on the cake was that each room came with a private pool for all guests to unwind."

Entered on a camel with a mandap in the middle of the desert!

Unita says, "I knew I wanted a wedding that would be different, hence Nikhil and I picked a desert location as opposed to a more common beach theme. I remember how serene it was - the elegant mandap, the beautiful quiet desert surrounding us, and the laughter of our families and the wedding mantras chanted by the pandit being the only sounds. And the icing on the ‘wedding’ cake - gorgeous pictures to serve as memory of that monumental day."

7 guests at the venue, and 100s on Zoom!

Aditi says, "It was going be a surprise for me as well as the 7 guests at the venue and around 100 close friends and family plugged in via zoom. Ronil and I always envisioned our wedding to be an intimate, classy, and elegant affair. Even though we just had a week to plan, we did not want to compromise on our vision. We did all the things we would have done had it been in a non-COVID world. We went with our gut on most decisions including our outfits!"
