A Pastel Sabyasachi Bridal Lehenga for Bride Divya

BY The WMG Bride | 01 Feb, 2014 | 9810 views | 3 min read

Wed Me Good is now 14 days away from launch !

When a bride chooses a non - red bridal lehenga, Im all ears and when the lehenga happens to combine bits of mint green, champagne gold and gorgeous, flowy cream fabric designed by Sabyasachi its like putting a delicious warm , frosted cupcake in front of me (Yes i equate everything to food - dont worry Divya im not going to eat your lehenga ) .

So why not a red or a pink lehenga?

Divya says " October in Goa - would be a bit warm and humid - red and pink are too much for me to carry off personally. They dont go with my personality, I like understated, classic, elegant dressing.  In a dark colour I feel the bride gets drowned - the colour shows but the person, make up, jewelry get overshadowed. "

While the bride herself is a tad bit shy to really share her wedding photos with us, she had a gorgeous, elegant Goa wedding and for all those of you planning a destination wedding, you must here the gyaan she has to share! Her wedding was planned by Goa based Jerry Pinto, shot by ace photographer Shreya Sen and she got prettied up by Bridal Makeup Artist Ojas Rajani !!

I have always wondered- do you hire local vendors at a destination wedding?

Divya says " We did not hire local vendors except for the wedding planner - these days all info is available online (you know like on Wed me good!)  and I chatted with people who had got married in Goa before - I trust their taste in vendors and so just went with their recommendation and my gut instinct and they way they interacted with me on phone etc - that was very important whether or not I gelled with them as people. "

Words of advice..

As for last words of advice for Brides, Divya says " We planned the wedding in about 2 months but some people take as long as 1 year - really depends on how elaborate you want the wedding to me and how much of a perfectionist you are. I personally focused more on the marriage and my relationship with my husband and new family as opposed to the colour of the napkins at the wedding.  (Amen to that !)
I made just one trip to Goa before the wedding, 1 to Mumbai and 1 to Calcutta."
