A Charming Bangalore Wedding With Kitsch Details And A Bride In Mint

BY Soha | 06 Aug, 2019 | 2576 views | 5 min read

The world can be divided into two types of brides- one, that take the classic route and do everything by the book, and then there are those who don't even know that there ever has been a rule book! Bhavana belongs to the latter!

This bride made sure her wedding reflected parts of her personality (with a touch of Gaurav's ), even if it meant making some bold choices like wearing a mint hue with a contrasting peach dupatta-something that's far from your typical Rajasthani wedding lehenga! With Pinterest-worthy decor by With Love Nilma★ 5 that makes for stunning pictures, you are sure to find yourself bookmarking quite a few ideas at this wedding. Part of the credit also goes to The Picture Patch Photography ★ 4.9 for clicking some pretty, pretty pictures for you and I to drool over!

Meet Bhavana & Gaurav

"We met at a common friend's party and sparks flew instantly. We got talking and found out that we live right across the street!! It's a small world indeed. After countless attempts to postpone our first date (wanted him to chase hard ;)), I eventually decided to give it a shot. And before we knew it, we were already meeting the families. We still took our time, courted for more than two years and then finally decided to take the leap," shares Bhavana.

From The Bride

"So, Gaurav is a Maharashtrian and I belong from Rajasthan. We had a traditional Maharashtrian wedding, although it is very similar to my side of weddings. We were surrounded by only our relatives and close friends since both of us wanted it to be an intimate ceremony," shares Bhavana.

Vendor Reviews

Venue: Sangeet - Sterling Mac, Old Airport Road, Bangalore - Located in the heart of Bangalore and just a few yards from our residence, we knew this would be the perfect place to host the Sangeet. Inspired by Indo-Asian architecture, Sterlings Mac Hotel is a modern hotel with traditional décor. The Banquet hall with surround sound system, and the lip-smacking food were the highlights apart from our rocking performances which forced every guest present to shake a leg.

Reception and Wedding - The Courtyard House - Sarjapur Road, Bangalore. Unconventional, pretty and true-blue Bangalore, The Courtyard House is a slice of heaven just outside the city. A beautiful red-brick house set amidst lush green lawns and plenty of trees and lots of open space, making it the quintessential venue for the #bhagao wedding. The venue presents a beautiful atmosphere and scenic photographic backdrops be it day or night.

A well-known name in the city’s fashion circuit, makeup artist Romi Thokchom has also won accolades in transgender beauty pageants. Apart from being a part of the Bangalore fashion week (Make up and Hair Team) from 3rd edition to 11th Edition, she has also groomed celebs Lisa Haydon, Sania Mirza, Yami Gautam, Hazel Kitch, Zeenat Aman and the like. She was very patient and professional in her work. I could not have looked prettier on my special day. It was a pleasure to have her on board.

A team of wedding photographers who are dedicated to creating and capturing memories for couples on their big day, The Picture Patch photography specializes in luxury wedding photography and photojournalism. They truly abide by "Capturing moments today that will wow your heart tomorrow !"

It was an obvious choice for us when it came to the decor - With love, Nilma. Nilma Dileepan does make your dreams an Instagrammable reality with her Pinterest-worthy decor elements. Even with minimal changes between the Reception decor in the night to the Wedding decor during the day, she managed to give the space a complete transformation. What with the vintage chandeliers to the beautiful acrylic chairs and heavenly lighting, it definitely looked royal. From gold, red and black mood for the Reception to mint and peach themed day Wedding, we got the cream of the crop.

Guarav and I were very clear that we would take complete charge of your attire for all the functions. We booked our flights to Mumbai and started the hunt. I picked up my Sangeet and Reception wear from Roopkala Heritage. I paired the neon pink skirt from Roopkala Heritage with a beige netted blouse with floral work beautifully stitched by my tailor (Krian Studio). The gorgeous color and the fit of the reception gown drew me towards it instantly. My wedding lehenga was from Magic Mirror. I decided to go with a mint hue, very different from the typical Rajasthani wedding lehenga. I was totally in awe with the intricate pink, peach and gold work on the fabric. The bright peach net dupatta heightened the overall look of the wedding couture.

We picked the groom wear from Kora by Nilesh Mitesh. Ahead-of-the-curve designs and expressing a never-before-seen fusion of traditional crafts and contemporary haute couture. A very Nawabi looking Sangeet wear to a royal looking mint and peach sherwani for the wedding day, Gaurav owned it all.

I am totally drawn towards graphics and invitation designs. We wanted the invites to flow straight from our hearts. It had to have the personal touch from the bride herself, so I designed them myself. The design was very contemporary with certain conventional elements.
