A Quirky Indian Bachelorette Party in Japan! (With Some Real Crazy Videos To Boot!)

Think bachelorette trip and you think.... Goa , or Hua Hin perhaps. But Japan ???? It takes a special group of friends to pull that off. That’s exactly what Akshita Zutshi did, she along with three of her BFFs- Aastha Batra, Shaheen Singh, Ageerika Hari went to Japan for a memorable Bachelorette party... and while it sounds like an offbeat location for a Bachelorette, it looks like so much fun! Over to Aastha, who takes us behind-the-scenes and tells us about all the fun they had on their 8-day trip!

"Our bachelorette party was planned in Japan. We covered Kyoto and Tokyo and had an absolute blast! The reason we chose Japan was to try and make this trip as quirky and crazy and possible..and it was totally worth it! Tokyo city has such a fun yet crazy vibe to it, that we all instantly knew we made the right choice! Oh yes, not to forget the absolute delectable food we had over our 8 day trip! We came back with crazy memories, lots of shopping and a few extra pounds on our bodies! And of course, what happens in Japan, stays in Japan!"
Here are a few details that made Japan an unforgettable place for us. We even made made tourists and locals in Kyoto dance to Kala Chashma!LOL. We stayed at the APA Hotel Ekimae, Shimogyo Ward in Kyoto and at the Nishi Shinjuku in Tokyo. While both our locations were super central and right next to the station, the size of the rooms were extremely small but just enough manageable for one person.

It was only after we reached Kyoto, we realised it is popular as a spiritual city. Maybe Osaka would've been better for our purpose, but because we had Tokyo right after Kyoto, it was the perfect balance! Even though Kyoto is popular for its shrines and temples, we partied till wee hours in the morning. Here are some amazing places we went to:
a) Downtown Kyoto - Within this area, Pontocho Alley is popular for its restaurants. Shinkyogoku is an alley between the downtown area and has numerous shops that sell local Japanese clothing and cosmetics. There are some quirky gaming centres and some really odd beat places to eat and drink - there are interesting soda and pancake bars to try too.
b) Club World and Club Butterfly are some good clubs that were open till 5 am with english commercial music playing so we had a fab time!
c) Some bars such as K6 are very popular for their cocktails even though we could only pre-drink there since there was no music.
d) Gion district is popular for geisha sightings and restaurants. We went to a karaoke bar in this area after dinner and carried out our pre drinking session singing old school English songs like backstreet boys and Britney Spears!
Coming to Tokyo, it is like any other metropolitan city and is absolutely crazy with its technology and timings. Here are a few things we did there:
a) Ginza street was great for high end shopping and sushi lovers - loved it!
b) Ramen street located in the first avenue of Tokyo Station was a delight!
c) Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku are popular for restaurants, bars, shopping and some other great night life scenes
d) Golden Gai street is an absolute must for their tiny bars and great vibe!
d) Club Ageha and Vision were our favourite clubs to party at. Must-do!
e) Takashita - Dori is popular for some quirky fashion stores and this is where you would see crazy Japanese teen fashion. We also played laser tag on this street after getting drunk. Christie Tea house is a must on this street for some yum cinnamon coco coffee and cinnamon toast!
f) We went to some crazy theme-based restaurants and cafe such as the Maid Cafe, Ninja Restaurant (expensive but definitely worth the experience ), Cat Cafe, Owl Cafe!
"One needs to try crazy flavours in their ice creams, Kit Kats and coffees! Sake and plum wine were our absolute favourite drinks during the trip! It's a walking city so we used to walk more than 25,000 steps a day to soak in the city! Every night we tried to add some element of quirk to our outfits and it was just so much fun. The Japanese race is the most amazing and kind race you will vet come across! So helpful and so so sweet, it's hard to believe! All in all, it was a blast!" adds Aastha
