A Stunning Hyderabad Wedding With The Couple In The Most Gorgeous Coordinated Outfits

BY Aakanksha | 02 Jan, 2019 | 6777 views | 4 min read

A cross-culture wedding with the best of both cultures represented, we lost our hearts at the very first sight! It was a celebration of two people completely in love with each other and the union of their different backgrounds. The wedding was a mixed one, but with a twist! They had a Hindu ceremony and the bride and the groom both wore coordinated outfits. But they also read vows to each other and had bridesmaids and groomsmen in matching outfits! The bride wore her grandmother's 150-year old saree for her Haldi ceremony, and a beautiful Shyamal Bhumika★ 4.7 for her wedding. Her wedding jewellery was perfectly in sync with her outfit! The wedding was a bit of both and the seamless union was visible in stunning pictures captured by Naman Verma Photography★ 4.9 !

Ashna pens down how she and her husband met and their love story, "We met 4 years ago in San Francisco. A friend and I had just moved there from New York and were living together. Brett and his friends used to cook dinner every Sunday night and invite different friends over. They knew my roommate from college and so one Sunday, they called her over for dinner. She happened to bring me along. That was the night we first met - the rest is history!"

The Wedding

From The Bride:

"I wanted the wedding to include a lot of personal touches and to really feel like our wedding. We also had over 150 guests traveling from abroad, many of whom had never been to an Indian wedding, so we wanted it to be fun and personal for them as well. A few of our personal touches:

    • We had baskets in all the hotel rooms when guests arrived which included an assortment of our favorite Indian snacks and hand-written letters from Brett or I welcoming each guest to our wedding with a personal note. These took a long time to write, but it was worth it!
    • At our mehendi, we had a bangle-making stand and a perfume-mixing stand so our guests would have an interactive element
    • Almost every guest from abroad participated in at least one of our Sangeet dances! We sent videos of the choreography in advance and they practiced at home before traveling to India
    • I made a book for Brett with 218 reasons why I loved him (218 was the number of weeks from when we met to when we got married). I presented this to him on our wedding day.

My Husband is American, so we also wanted to make sure that we incorporated elements from both of our cultures. For example, we wrote and read our own vows to each other on our wedding day, and we had a first dance as well as father-daughter and mother-son dances. We each had bridesmaids and groomsmen that wore matching lehengas and kurtas respectively. Our families and closest friends also gave speeches."
