A Surajkund Soiree with a timeless, Rajasthani Bride

BY The WMG Bride | 03 Oct, 2014 | 6912 views | 4 min read

If Rachel Zoe was viewing these wedding photos "I DIEEE" would have been every second line out of her mouth because seriously, the jewellery in this wedding is something out of a Mughal Painting . Traditional, regal, yet with an offbeat twist and with outfits that are a far cry from the cookie-cutter lehengas we are used to seeing these days, there has been so much detail involved in the styling of this bride that we really salute the brides mum for pulling this look off.  We think she has a bridal styling career in the making. Captured through the incredible lens of Morvi Images Photography, this one is a visual delight!

Meet Vidhi and Vinay

Vidhi recounts" Vinay and I have been childhood sweethearts. We met in class 10 in math tuition, but only started dating much later. We were mostly in a long distance relationship. Despite the lengthy long distance relationship we are now finally together" sangeet-lehenga-002 IMG_8491sangeet-lehenga-003 heartshaped-engagement-ring

Heart shaped Solitaires make the world go round!

From the bride : There were two requests I had from my parents for the wedding:
  1. I wanted a small wedding (at least the rituals)
  2. I wanted the sangeet to be naughty and fun
which is exactly how it was. The only two things I decided were my makeup artist and the photographer and both my makeup artist Jyoti and photographer Morvi did an absolutely stunning job.  As far as my outfits are concerned my mom pretty much put all our ensembles together , and shes very good with this stuff so I trusted her completely. She always wanted me to be a traditional Rajasthani bride, and I was more than happy to be one. My jewelry is something my mom spent many months putting together. It was really a refreshing change because my outfit was pretty light and I opted for flat mojri's instead of heels, and let the jewels do the talking . In terms of other unique elements, my wedding card was really unique as well. All our events were held at Claridges, Surajkund which is now Taj Vivanta. We had the entire hotel booked for the two day event and our wedding was a small affair attended only by close family so me and Vinay could really sit back and relax. In terms of vendors who did a great job- even though I had to make Jyoti travel from Delhi for my makeup every day she was well worth it and very helpful in prebridal styling sessions. As for Morvi- she  is not just a wedding photographer she's a "superfreakingawesomeartistmagician." There were very few things I had control over in my wedding but I knew I had to have the absolute best photographer there ever was and Morvi was exactly what I was looking for. There are a lot of drool worthy photographers out there but for me these are the things that set her apart for me - because she is like a friend who makes you completely comfortable, she is extremely professional (she met me a week before my wedding to scout for spots to take photos ) and her photos are like art. I fall in love wit myself every time I see my albums and all my colleagues in the US want to know when she is going to be in the states so they can schedule a shoot with her.
