"We met through a mutual friend who set us up on a blind date. I came to India for studies and he came for work that year. It was so unexpected and so unreal. Though we didn’t know we were meeting each other that night, little did we know that we would be running into each other after four years! Ashwin and I met briefly in the US before I left for India so even though we were friends, we never really got the chance to get to know each other on a more personal level. It felt surreal that we met in a whole other country after years through a blind date! It felt like fate working its magic to bring us together." - shared, Rishika!

We had a traditional Telugu wedding where we also incorporated a few Tamil customs since Ashwin’s Tamil and I’m Telugu. Every single part of it was absolutely beautiful and personalized with close family and friends surrounding us and cheering us on. One of the most substantial moments through our wedding is when we both touched each other’s feet as a sign of equality in our marriage. That was something that was deeply purposeful and meaningful to us.
