BY Sakshi | 27 Apr, 2020 | 7450 views | 3 min read

So the Coronavirus scare has really changed a lot of our plans. Weddings have been postponed, and no one is really sure when they will be able to have the wedding of their dreams that they had planned. But if you're one of those people who is ok with going with the flow and wouldn't mind changing your plans to suit a smaller, more intimate wedding at home, then this one might be of use to you! For starters, it would be easier to pull off after the lockdown is over, and would require much lesser planning! If you're looking for some tips and tricks for that, you're at the right place. But before you go ahead, read these Things To Remember Before You Have A Wedding Event At Home

Be on the same page about it

This not only includes the two of you, but both your immediate families as well. This is a decision everyone needs to be ok with, but yes, primarily the two of you. If you only near and dear ones at the wedding and want to go ahead and throw a bigger Reception later? That works too.

It's at home, still have a budget

We've featured a bride who wore a Sabyasachi for her wedding at home, and we've also featured a couple who planned their entire wedding at home on a budget of 5 lakhs. So whether you want to go all out or keep things in control, take a call together.

Keep it simple-ish

Remember, you are having the wedding at home. So it needs to be simple- or at least simple-ish. Do not over complicate, and keep it as elaborate as you can manage. No point stressing on making things grand- then you might as well have it somewhere else.

Have a lawn or a terrace? Make full use of it!

A garden can be perfect to pull off just about any function at home- from a mehendi to a haldi and even a wedding. Same goes for a big terrace as well.

Consider other homes as well

You can even consider the homes of your other closer relatives, especially if they have sentimental value, like your nanis or dadis. We had a bride who rescheduled her wedding at her ancestral home as her parents had also gotten married there.

Decide on the guest list and the functions you want to have

Again, this one has to be simple. Either a mehendi, haldi and a small intimate wedding ceremony, or just an exchange of vows- you can't really plan a whole shebang lasting days with loads of functions at home! Keep the guest list also as less and intimate as possible.

Do things that are easy, but look like you've put effort

Get a lot of marigold strings put all over, or use drapes effectively, or make a simple photobooth which looks fantastic in photos. Some neat ideas here and here!

DIY as much as you can, but not everything!

There are loads of vendors out there who can give you the decor you want at home, so do not stress with trying to DIY everything. Here are some vendors who can help you out, and some hacks given by professional planners. Here are some easy ideas to setup your home for a wedding function
