Coronial Gurgaon Wedding With 50 People & Traditional Red Bridal Lehenga

BY Aakanksha | 15 May, 2021 | 9284 views | 4 min read

Urvashi & Rahul are the perfect milliennial couple - edgy, modern with a hint of traditional and coronials! For Urvashi & Rahul, this was a celebration of love, and their culture. With only 50 people in attendance, and scores of others blessing the couple via Zoom, their wedding nuptials were beautiful and full of joy. While they had their own modern elements fused with traditional ceremonies, their outfits were definitely the traditional colours of red & beige! And hey, it is an age-old combination that still works, as clearly evident in their pictures. Urvashi looked like a dream in her red bridal lehenga while Rahul complimented her perfectly in a beige sherwani.

Scroll and see for yourself this pocket-friendly stunner with laughter and love shining everywhere!

Meet Urvashi & Rahul

Rahul and I met on a vacation through a common friend, 5 years ago before we got married in the month of December, little did we know that it would become a vacation for a lifetime. In the midst, of a breezy windy night, star gazing, sitting on a hill top we drank and spoke for hours, until the first light of dawn. It was strange how we two individuals of different mindset, thoughts and opinions sometimes just connect instantly without any doubts or questions in mind. Though we come from a same culture, however we are two individuals of completely different upbringing and thought process.

The Wedding

From The Bride:

Away from the hustle of societal pressures the wedding was a classic minimalist affair. Our wedding was an intimate scene for a Punjabi Wedding, where only the close ones shared the day in person, but Zoom connected us to the world. This was not a dreamy wedding, but a wedding of celebrating our love, choices, aspirations, decisions and commitment. Since, our wedding is another COVID-19 wedding that happened to be a blessing in disguise. Rahul and I never wanted to be the mere spectators of our wedding but decision takers and makers. From finding the venue, food tasting, shopping we happen to do this all by ourselves, as we spent endless times on video chats with family to finalise minutest of details. The wedding was witnessed by only the near and dear ones, who graced the occasion with their presence and blessings, thanks to the 50 people rule. Being typical millennials yet old school, as traditional as it can get, we just wanted to enjoy our wedding day, make this day important for us first before anything else. We envisioned this to day be remembered by us for whatever went wrong, we wanted to make this our day, knowing this other things would just come around.

Vendor Reviews:

Makeup Artist: Kavleen Arneja
Kavleen is a Delhi-based-budget friendly make-up artist, hiring her won't make a dent in your pocket. Her work is minimalistic yet classic. She’ll do the needful as you require. As a bridezilla, her presence is friendly, she makes you comfortable and handles your anxiety well.

Photographers: Deekha Rathore  & Akshay Kapoor
Deeksha and Akshay, together is a creative, energetic duo, who shall bring out the best of you. We never wanted mere service provider but friends with cameras, they were part of our wedding as much as our friends. When we spoke our ideologies instantly connected, and we hit it instantly with them. Having them document your wedding shall be the nicest decision that you will take amongst other wedding decisions.

Decor: Mehendi - Drumrolls and Dreams
The decorators for Mehendi Event, Raveena and Vinayak adorned and brought life to our venue, with hues of mint, white, yellow and fairy lights. The subtle harmony at the venue would add all the required charms to your evening. They empathise and care for their clients to deliver the end product at par with how you would have imagined.

Bridal Outfits: Wedding - Frontier Bazaar, Mehendi - Prevasu
The experience with both the vendors was extremely convenient, they were there to help with all the necessary changes in time. No matter how much time you spend at their studios/ shop they shall give you all the necessary attention, also worth every penny.
