Decoding Each Of Deepika's Bridal Looks! *Massive Inspo Here For North & South Brides!

BY Sakshi | 20 Nov, 2018 | 22219 views | 4 min read

The last one year has seen a lot of Bollywood brides! After Anushka Sharma and Sonam Kapoor, it was finally Deepika Padukone's turn, and her bridal look was something everyone was most excited about- after all, she is one hottie who can carry off just about everything! So now that we have her bridal looks from both her weddings- the Konkani and the Sindhi one, let's breakdown and discuss each of them and how it was styled! Brides-to-be, especially those having North-South weddings, find some major inspiration here! But to be honest, we think Deepika rocked the Konkani bridal look better!

The Konkani Bridal Look

So now that we have more photos to see her bridal look, we've got to say, she hasn't kept it as simple as we had presumed it to be! Love how she's rocking that bold smokey eye with heavy kohl eyes- really brings out the strongest feature on her face! She kept her brows bold as usual, and the lips MLBB, which worked so well with her gold Kanjivaram saree! As far as her hairstyle was concerned, she was the typical traditional South Indian bride, with a bridal bun full of mogra flowers, which looked elegant and nice!

As far as her jewellery was concerned, that was the strong point of her bridal look! Apart from the pretty polki mathapatti which had a pop of colour as well, we really loved how she went all out with the jewellery on her hands! Love the paunchi on her wrists, those studded kadas and the statement rings and one with rubies and diamonds that stood out so well! I mean, just check it out- so lovely!

She paired the look with an antique-finish temple jewellery inspired bib style necklace that was layered with a longer rani-haar style one as well. It went amazingly well with the Jhumki style earrings that have become synonymous with Sabyasachi. We have to say, full marks to Sabyasachi for that stunning jewellery which was so perfect for the modern yet traditional bride!

And finally, here's a grainy but better look at her full top to toe outfit- the hue of the Kanjivaram was just right- not too bright and not too dull! Very rich and lovely! Deepika Padukone's Kanjeevaram red gold wedding sari worn by her for the Mangalorean wedding ceremony with a Sabyasachi veil and jewellery was an Advaya sari from The House of Angadi, Bangalore. As per tradition, the bride wears a sari given by the mother and the red gold sari is a real zari Kanjeevaram. The body design is the Gandaberunda (two headed bird) the mythological figure that is also represented as the coat of arms of the Mysore Maharaja and subsequently Karnataka. The saree was bought by her mother, Ujjala Padukone and then customised by Sabyasachi for the bridal look.

The Sindhi Bridal Look

If Deepika was a traditional South Indian bride, she pulled off the North Indian bridal look perfectly too, donning the traditional red and gold. She had on a double dupatta drape, and her choice of red was the traditional one too- and notice how the blouse was kept simple to let the jewellery and the showstopper- the dupatta on her head, do all the talking! Yes, the same dupatta that had a quote written on it.. embroidered with real gold thread! We loved her bridal entry with a simple chadar and her sisters holding it up!

Her jewellery was stunning- a polki maangtikka this time, with a statement bib style choker necklace and gorgeous earrings! The jewellery by Sabyasachi was gorgeous, and the highlight of her bridal look. The Nath was big, but simple with a pearl string. She again went heavy on the hands with loads of stacked polki kadas and kaleere and a traditional red chura by Ra abta by Rahul. Apart from the massive rock on her finger, she had loads of other studded rings too!

The makeup however was similar for both the looks- she stuck to what she knows looks best on her- bold eyes and brows with nude lips. So not too much experimenting done for this one with the makeup!
