The one major element that couples should drop is wastage. There are so many areas in a wedding where wastage can be stopped. We believe that eco-friendly and less wastage weddings are the way to go. Here are some things that you can stop without having a major effect to your overall wedding planning yet making a difference. Stop printing wedding program lists for chair to chair, guests throw it away within a few hours. Do away with firecrackers and cold sparklers for entry and baraat. Say bye-bye to old signage and over used props like cycles, hanging frames and lay them to rest.

Venues have a charm of their own. We recommend that couples should stop focusing on filling the venue with props and heavy elements instead use elements like potted plants, blue pottery and succulent which will add something to the venue instead of overloading it.

For an outdoor evening wedding event, stop using green tinted halogen lights to highlight the trees. Instead use more warm colours like amber or fairy lights to highlight the tress which gives a more sophisticated look. Also for mandap décor, avoid using typical drape and floral arrangements and try and experiment more with the current trends like minimal or rustic decor.

One thing that couples need to stop doing is going overboard with the décor. Sometimes, we tend to get swayed by all things dazzling and forget why we chose a venue in the first place - Sometimes minimalism is all you need for a venue and to bring out the best that nature has to offer. It's not necessary to go overboard with decor and instead enhance what the venue has to offer.

As wedding decorators, we are always on the lookout for something new and exciting, a creative way to bring our client's vision to life. A trend that we would like to let go of is the usage of genda phool wrapped elements such as oversized glasses that serve as photo-ops at mehendi functions. Although beautiful, this decor element is over used and it's time to choose more creative ways of using the same elements.
