Dramatic Palace Wedding in Jaipur With A Dose Of Fun!

A jewellery designer who made fun brooches for everyone with "betiwalle" written on it? That's what we're talking about when we needed that shot of fun this week. Radhika Agarwal of the famed Radhika Agarwal Jewels made sure her wedding had all the fun things ever - from interesting brooches to co-ordinated outfits and a dose of fun kaleeras. Photography by Fotowalle - The Story Folks and Arjuns Tryst with the Camera was amazing and captured the essence of the wedding beautifully.
From The Bride:
"We wanted a very close knit wedding thats why we planned on for a destination wedding. Plus, we wanted the space to be palatial. So we chose The Raj palace in Jaipur for all the wedding ceremonies. We wanted the entire family to stand out as the bride side so we gave each guest a brooch called "betiwale". Usually people write ladkiwale or ladkewale but that was too common. I don't have a single sample for myself as people loved it so much, that each one of them took 2-3 brooches as a wedding souvenir. We also made zardosi embroidered brooches with chains and tassels and gota rings for all the women - for the groom's side," explains Radhika.
"It's very rare that guys like pink and my fiancé loves it so everything from the outfits to the decor to the wedding favours has a touch of pink to it. I chose a rose pink lehenga with intricate zardosi work as I love more of pastels than the typical reds & maroons. Even all the wedding favours we made had a hint of pink.
I belong to a Marwari family, we don't really wear kaleeras but I made sure I wear one created by me, so I got these oversized kaleeras made which had an intricately carved domes with pearl tassels hanging along with the dome. The good thing is that me & my fiancé really wanted our outfits to be colour-coordinated for the wedding but being in different cities, it was tough. Plus, we both wanted to surprise each other. We simply exchanged the colour sample and to our surprise we were perfectly colour co-ordinated for both our functions - and to think, we never even went shopping or whatsapped our outfits" adds Radhika.

Meet Radhika & Rahul
"Ours was an arranged marriage, a relative known to both the families introduced us to the groom side family last year in December'15. Post that I started talking to my fiancé, we met before the families met and later the families met too and we further got engaged in February," says Radhika.
