BY Aakanksha | 24 Sep, 2021 | 3310 views | 7 min read

Ridhi & Simrranjit got hitched in a grand celebration in Pune. The couple wore some royal outfits, specifically designed for them and they even coordinated in same colour. Shot by Picsurely★ 4.7 , this wedding made us pin so many ideas to our pin board! From gorgeously shot candid pictures, to outfits that screamed comfort, this wedding gave us loads of inspo.

Meet Ridhi & Simrranjit

It’s a story of the world we live in today, the world of social media where these two states met, of course via a mutual friend who had no idea what’s brewing. So Ridhi came across Simrranjit's Instagram profile thanks to this common friend and liked a couple of workout pictures as both are fitness enthusiasts. This caught Simrranjit’s attention & there it began from striking a conversation to asking her out & in no time they realized there was a very special connection between them.

The Wedding:

From The Bride:

We got married on 25/01/2021 at The Westin, Pune. Our Mehendi by the Pool at The Market. The festivities kicked off with a poolside Mehendi function. A fusion of vibrant colors and quirky boho elements set the tone for the exuberant event. The decor included bangles, maang tikkas for the girls to feel the vibe. The décor had elements like White cane furniture, baskets, and funky props, while strings of vintage lights crisscrossed above. The bride and the groom stood out in their Purple and wine colors breaking the cliché Yellow and Green mehndi color. The beautiful bride wore designer Dolly J's outfit while the Punjabi Munda wore Umang Mehta’s collection. There were performances at Mehendi by both the sides of family and friends. The performances for Mehendi was choreographed by Karishma Tanna, and not to forget how DJ Sukhi made everyone go crazy in a Bollywood mood on the dance floor. The bride and the groom gave their best performance by a romantic two-state mix face-off.

Cocktail and Engagement at The House of Medici.  An eclectic evening filled with glitz and flashing lights and at the entry was lit by a photo-booth with the couples dating memories photos. Simrranjit and Ridhi’s smoking entry is what made everyone hoot as they literally walked a pathway filled with dry ice which gave an illusion as if they were walking on the clouds and under a beautiful canopy of lights dangling with red roses. The engagement and Cocktail also doubled up as everyone shook a leg on the colossal dance floor right after. With colorful spotlights and a floral lit LED backdrop, the decor had a varied theme. And like every true 2 states wedding, bhangra and Garba, was the dance form of choice as people of all ages showed off their best moves.

The BIG FAT Punjabi Wedding at The Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar followed by an amazing sit-down lunch experience for the guests at The Nawab restaurant in Westin Pune. The gurudwara pheras were held at the Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar with peaceful spiritual vibes. The bride shares, “This was actually our first choice for pheras.” They had a vision of how holy the set up against the backdrop of the Gurudwara will look with the entry of the bride in the floral chaddar. The Nawab Restaurant at The Westin, Pune was a settled up for the guest to dine in and for further Hindu rituals for the wedding “as it was formal enough for the pheras to transition into lunch” says the couple.

Vendor Reviews:

Venues: The Westin Pune
It’s a fabulous property, the rooms the venues (all different venues). Over all service was spectacular the team was very understanding, specifically the chef who took care of all the food arrangements did an amazing job.All our guests were very happy with the food & have us a very positive feedback.

Makeup Artist: Vishita Soni
She's a magician with make up brushes who I could blindly trust for all my bridal looks. The best part about the way she does the make up that it looks very natural. She's always been my go-to person for any big occasion.

Planner & Decor: A Soiree By Simran
They made our life so easy and can be trusted blindly as they were so transparent in all their quotes & dealings. The best part was they understood our taste and what we wanted and gave it to us in their first presentation, which we at one go said ok too and we’re rest assured were in good hands . A very cooperative and efficient team.

Photographer: Picsurely
They were a boon to us with their great work of capturing each moment so well with great professionalism.

Bridal Outfits: Wedding - Umang Mehta, Cocktail - Julie Shah, Mehendi - Dolly J; Groom Wear: All Functions: Umang Mehta
Talking about the bride and the groom’s outfit designer Umang Mehta says “When Simrranjit (@thehungerblogger) came to me first he was very clear that he wanted to do something out of the box & nothing regular, but with a touch of a royal element. I was happy to know that he is open to experimenting & then looking at his personality the only thing that came to my mind was a Maharaja look, as it would complement very well with his Pagdi (Turban). The Bell Sleeves Sherwani & the Anarkali Kurta along with the nine-line mala (neckpiece) & the Ruby studded Kalgi with the Pearl Mala for the Pagdi was the spike. It was an absolute justice to the design & I don’t think anyone apart from him has the personality or the aura to carry that kind of look with such concrete confidence” concludes Umang. The same was with Ridhi Shah (bride), she was crystal clear that she wanted to have a Royal Traditional look to compliment a power pack Royal Couple look and goals. Umang adds “So the red is something that you won’t see very often. The couple was clear of what they wanted & after a couple of visits & discussions we came up with this whole Royal King & Queen look for this beautiful & dynamic duo.”

Mehendi Artist: Toral Nagda
The intricacy with which she and her assistant worked on my Mehendi was something I really loved. I never wanted a typical Mehendi which contains human figures or traditional symbols like almost every other bride. She made sure every aspect of the design was different and as per my choice. She did a wonderful job!

DJ: DJ Sukhi
He was the one who nailed it with each song as he figured the kind of music our guests will move their feet to & didn't repeat a single song in our Mehndi(all Punjabi numbers ) & for the cocktail it was all Bollywood vibes.

Favours: Anand Sweets India
Also our Return Hampers/favours were done by Anand Sweets India. They extent to which they went in helping us with the tastings & customisation was really heart warming & our guests loved the sweets so much that they called us asking for more.
