Meet Angel & Piyush

Piyush and I met during our undergrad sometime in July 2012. Though we had our first conversation during our college fest dance preparation after a few months into college, that was limited to information on the dance practice schedule. Our friendship was actually a natural outcome of having a mutual friend circle right from our first semester and all of us would hang out together all the time. Piyush, in general, is a fun-loving, high-spirited but introverted guy and he came across as a gem of a person. Humble, empathetic and authentic. His unpretentiousness pulled me towards him like an inescapable riptide. It was merely an adolescent infatuation until I started knowing him better. Soon, I realized that I not only loved him, but I was head over heels in love with him. I confessed my feelings quite too early, but he did not feel the same at the time. About a year later, on 3rd February 2014, he went down on his knees and proposed to me to grow old with him. Right from the day one of our relationship, we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. I believe, that was the essence of our relationship, there was never even an iota of doubt about being with each other. That’s why when I moved to the US in 2016, he promised me that he will be here with me one day. Three years of long distance only made our hearts grow fonder. Finally, Piyush moved to the States in 2019 and 2021 was the year when our parents finally decided to tie us in the sacred knot and our wedding preps kicked off . To me, our journey is a real-life adaptation of Pyar Dosti Hai!

From The Bride:

Our wedding ceremonies spanned two days (10th and 11th February, 2022) and included 5 events - Mehendi, Sangeet, Haldi, Wedding, Reception. We had always dreamt of a destination wedding. Hailing from North India, we wished for a modern and stylish yet traditional wedding. After oscillating between Rajasthan and Goa for a couple of months, we finally chose Goa for our dreamy beach wedding.

I wore a Diya Rajvvir outfit from Aza Fashions for the Mehendi. It was stylish and unique, with the perfect color combination for the welcome lunch. For the Sangeet, I chose an Amit Aggarwal outfit. Whenever I dreamt of my Sangeet ceremony, I always desired to wear something metallic yet elegant and eccentric. Since I had always admired Amit Aggarwal’s unparalleled metallic designs, I somehow imagined myself wearing one of those stylish and modish lehengas on one of my special days. Being a little narcissist here, I looked stunning in this ensemble. For my Haldi, I wore Frontier Raas. For my wedding, I chose an outfit from their Kashida collection of Tarun Tahiliani with a subtle color combination. The Kashida hand work along with Zari work with the perfect blend of colours just gave me a dreamy look. I had always wanted my lehenga to stand out from the crowd of other brides and it totally did. For the reception, I wanted a striking red western outfit for my reception. So I picked a stunning number from Gaurav Gupta.

Venue: The Leela Goa

We explored many resorts as potential venues for our dreamy wedding but we finally chose The Leela Goa, primarily due to its pristine white sand beach. The resort is the perfect amalgamation of natural beauty of pearlescent sand beach and tropical splendour of coconut palms and lush gardens. The Leela met all our requirements for outdoor and indoor functions. It was very important that our wedding venue offered outdoor areas for the events as we wanted to indulge in the heavenly Goan weather while we were there! Some of our other important considerations included provisions for a ‘baraat’ procession with a band and vintage car, the ability to continue parties till the early hours of the morning and most importantly(vegetarian menu spanning diverse cuisines to meet the needs of all of our guests and satiate our taste buds. Being north Indians, we are big time foodies so no compromise over there so we were a little apprehensive about the vegetarian food. I must highlight that the food in fact surpassed expectations. They offered a huge variety of mouth savoring food at every event.

Bridal Makeup: Ojas Rajani Bridal Makeup

Ojas Rajani Choosing Ojas for my wedding was definitely the best decision. She connects with her clients and truly understands what the bride wants. She dolled me up just the way I wanted in every event and I won’t be exaggerating in admitting that I looked like a dream on my big day. She really creates magic with the subtle yet stunning makeup. The one thing I knew from the very start was that I wanted a minimal bridal look. Her work is absolutely flawless and magical. I remember when I looked into the mirror, especially for the pheras. I was ecstatic, I just couldn’t take my eyes off myself. Big hugs to Ojas.

Bridal & Guest Mehendi: Misba Henna World

I highly recommend Misba for Bridal mehendi and guest mehendi for her quality of work and punctuality. Her work is amazing, and she caters to any customization that you request for. She applied bridal mehendi in simply no time yet the design came out absolutely neat and beautiful I would like to highlight that she prepares the mehendi for the events herself and is completely chemical free.

The entire team is simply wonderful. They work with pure heart and put all their efforts to add a touch of their creativity while taking care of the couple’s opinions. During the events, they captured beautiful shots in whatever time they got. Be it traditional shots or candid, I just adored every shot. After the wedding, I really did not have to worry about their deliverable. They were always on time.

Bridal Outfit (Sangeet): Amit Aggarwal

When I began my wedding shopping spree, Amit Aggarwal’s Mehrauli store was unquestionably one of the stops. When I entered the store, I was certainly spellbound by the intricate metallic outfits. I picked two outfits to give it a try, but ended up wearing just one. The moment I put on that lehenga, I felt satiated about my hunt for a Sangeet outfit. This was quintessential in every sense, the color, the design and unlike other lehengas, this was simply featherweight. It was extremely comfortable to dance, run/ twirl for the photoshoot. Not to forget the packing, I never imagined any bridal outfit could occupy just enough space similar to a regular one-piece dress. Being a little narcissist here, I looked stunning in this ensemble. Thrilled to have chosen this outfit and thank you for the entire experience. Strongly recommend Amit Aggarwal’s outfits for utterly stylish yet comfortable outfits.

Bridal Outfit (Wedding): Tarun Tahiliani

I bought my bridal lehenga from Tarun Tahiliani’s store at Mehrauli. It was an excellent experience. The staff was wonderful and they went above and beyond to help me find the perfect dress for my big day. They undoubtedly have a great collection of bridal lehangas to choose from. I chose an outfit from their Kashida collection with a subtle color combination. The Kashida hand work along with Zari work with the perfect blend of colours just gave me a dreamy look. I had always wanted my lehenga to stand out from the crowd of other brides and it totally did. Absolutely timeless, elegant and which I can think of reusing in certain ways. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an eccentric, comfortable outfit in intricate designs. Definitely value for money if you want to stand out as a bride.

I wanted a striking red western outfit for my reception and when I entered Gaurav Gupta's Mehrauli store, I found my dream outfit instantly. In terms of designs and the quality there is no other I could put my hands on. Definitely recommend for avant-garde style, exquisite gowns.
