A Quick Guide On How To Tweeze And Shape Your Eyebrows In Quarantine!

It’s time to wing it! With salons and spas shut during the lockdown, everyone’s eyebrows have gone haywire. And we know that how important those eyebrows are, especially during zoom calls with office colleagues as well as friends. But you can say goodbye to unruly brows with this quick guide on how to fix and shape your eyebrows at home while you are quarantined.

While a lot of people do opt for waxing and threading of eyebrows at home, we recommend you to do it only if you have done it before and you know the technique. You don’t want to end up with burns from hot wax or over-threaded eyebrows during a quarantine!

Things you will need to shape your eyebrows at home:

• Eyebrow pencil
• Spoolie
• Pair of tweezers
• Pair of scissors
• Ice cubes

Always start with clean skin. Ensure there is no lotion, cream or makeup on your skin before you start tweezing/shaping your eyebrows. Comb your eyebrows with the help of a spoolie, all upwards.

Use the eyebrow pencil to draw the desired eyebrow shape/outline around your eyebrows. Don’t know how to shape your eyebrows? Start with the three steps of the Golden Ratio Shaping Technique - Brows should begin directly above the middle of your nostrils, brows should end where the corner of the nostril connects with the outer corner of the eye, and the highest point of the arch should connect the middle of the tip of the nose with the middle of the iris. This technique tailors your brow shape to your unique bone structure. Use this image as a guideline!

Use an ice cube to numb the eyebrow and surrounding areas. Use your tweezer to tweeze out any extra hair outside the outline you have drawn. By doing this you see your shape while plucking and give yourself a better chance of nailing it and scoring an identical set of brows! Remember; go slow if you have never done this before.

After this, use the spoolie to comb your brows upwards again. This will allow you to trim the longer hair on your eyebrow path with scissors. Go slow as you don’t want to overdo the trimming! You can also use a facial razor to clean the surrounding areas of your eyebrows. Immediately after tweezing, gently pat some aloe vera gel or cortisone cream to minimize any sort of redness or inflammation.

And voila! Your perfectly groomed and shaped eyebrows are ready for that next Zoom call.
