Indian-Inspired Cocktails To Have At Your Wedding! (From Chai To Shikanji....)

BY The WMG Bride | 05 Nov, 2015 | 8837 views | 3 min read

It's wine, whisky and random done-to-death martinis, mojitos and cosmopolitans. The bar menu at weddings these days is a sight for sore eyes. And what's more? We are super bored! . Time for a change, dear bars at weddings. Since most of our weddings have Indian themes, use at least one good Indian cocktail into the mix. Or more, considering that we are giving you 6 of our most loved ingredients in cocktail format. Just print this, give it to your bartender and wait for the moment to hit the dance floor with your favourite drink in hand.

#Cocktail 1: Tamarind Margarita

This one is so new and we definitely want it on our menu. A classic one with vodka on the rocks with a dash of tamarind and a salted chilli rim. Tangy and fun - this will totally set the mood!

#Cocktail 2: Jamun-tini

This one says India-inspired like no other. The recipe says: London dry gin + a few jamuns, a little lime juice and sugar syrup.Serve it with a salt rim and lots of enthusiasm. Yummers!

#Cocktail 3: Shikanji Vodka

This one seems like a cakewalk - a bit of vodka, lime juice, sugar syrup, mint leaves and pinch of Shikanji Salt. Sour and super happy, we shall all be!

#Cocktail 4: Rose Mojito

This looks pretty and is yummy too - if yours is a pink theme, then this is really it! Plus, rose comes with it's own fragrance and twists that makes it easy to include in cocktails. Add lime juice, superfine sugar, fresh mint leaves, crushed ice, off-dry rosé and soda. Muddle and stir, add rosé, remaining ice and club soda. Done!

#Cocktail 5: Raw Mango Cocktail

Aam panna in a luxe avatar - hmmm, totally up our alley. All you need is Raw Mango Pulp  with Mango Juice, a bit of Tabasco sauce with ginger pieces, little orange juice and vodka. The trick is layering it - first, tabasco, then mango puree, then mango juice, then ginger and orange juice, then vodka. Viola!

#Cocktail 6: Chai-tini

This one's from our favourite girls at A Beautiful Mess - add a bit of Godiva, Vanilla Vodka, Splash of cream and spiced syrup. Shake and combine and enjoy. Now, the real deal is the spiced syrup - here's how you can make it. Add water, brown sugar, pinch of cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ground ginger, nutmeg and boil them. Once sugar is dissolved, put it in a container and add it as syrup. Yummers! Have an Indian cocktail you are dying to try? Tell us!
