Intimate NY Wedding In The Midst Of The Pandemic With Just Family!

BY Sakshi | 16 Sep, 2021 | 1269 views | 4 min read

We love it when couples put their love first, and Srishti and Vandeep were no exception! They just couldn't wait to be married, and went ahead and adapted their wedding to suit the need of the hour - going from a big and lavish celebration to a smaller one that was with only close family and a lot of love! This New York wedding had a pretty pink themed Anand Karaj outdoors, followed by a tented reception, and this sweet wedding will surely put a smile on your face!

Meet Srishti and Vandeep

"Vinny and I met on a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel back in 2017! We briefly talked on the app, but I actually wasn't so sure if online dating was for me, so I soon deleted it. Vinny was worried because we hadn't exchanged phone numbers yet, so he had no way of reaching out! He patiently waited on the app and kept reopening the conversation. One day I decided to return and give online dating another try. Vinny wasted no time - we exchanged phone numbers right away! We got to know each other over several weeks by texting and long talks on the phone, and eventually met up for our first date in NYC. Our connection was undeniable. We had instant chemistry and conversation flowed easily. The rest is history!"

Reception

From The Bride:

Our wedding date was August 1st, 2020. We had been planning our dream wedding with a stunning backdrop of the NYC skyline since getting engaged in March 2019. But God had other plans for us. We had to quickly adapt and change plans once the pandemic started. Things would change on a daily basis, and it became very difficult to keep up with the newest government mandates. As two working healthcare professionals, it really helped shift our perspective on priorities. We eventually decided we didn't want to wait to start our lives together, and moved forward with an intimate outdoor ceremony, followed by a small outdoor tented reception. It was just family, and it was perfect. We feel so blessed that we were able to make it happen.

Vendor Reviews

Henna For All (Monita Bijoriya)

Monita was the most professional and courteous wedding vendor that I had the pleasure of working with. Her booking process was streamlined and smooth, with an easy way to secure my date with a deposit. She answered all my questions via email in a timely manner. She sent me an informational sheet regarding COVID-19 precautions a few days before our scheduled date. She was on time and reliable. Most importantly, her work was absolutely impeccable, as is evident from her IG account. My henna stain was beautiful and I got compliments on it all day. She is truly the best henna artist in the NY/NJ area.

Knotty Arts Studio

Hands down the best videographer we could have asked for. They are a husband and wife team, Hector and Grace, and I can't recommend them enough. They were so thoughtful and courteous. By the end of the wedding weekend they felt like good friends just hanging out and celebrating with us. We love our short trailer and our full feature film. They also offer live streaming of the ceremony but we chose not to add it to our package.

Benares Catering

The one thing that everyone remembers from our wedding - the food. Guests could not stop raving about the food, all thanks to Benares. That's the one thing we kept hearing over and over, "The food was so amazing" or "The food was great I never ate so much". I cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism and quality of food. We had several live stations, passed appetizers, as well as a buffet dinner. One could argue that we had way too much food for a small 50 person wedding because by the time the cocktail hour was over, people were too stuffed for dinner. I wish we got to enjoy the food more as the bride and groom, but we were warned beforehand that the couple is usually too busy to eat! They packed up some food for us to take home at the end of the night, which we thoroughly enjoyed.
