A Gorgeous South Indian Wedding In Mysore And A Bride In A Stunning Crimson Kanjeevaram

BY Soha | 16 Jan, 2019 | 13235 views | 3 min read

Now here is a love story that started on the sets of a film in Bombay! No, seriously! There is something about this wedding that is making us bookmark it for some major #weddinggoals. Is it the bride's Kanjeevaram in a delicious shade of crimson, or the minimalist genda-phool decor, or her dainty, temple jewellery? We can't pick a favorite because this wedding had it all! Windflower Resort and Spa, Mysore provided the perfect space for this intimate wedding, and Vivek Krishnan photography★ 4.9  has done complete justice to the gorgeousness that this wedding was! Read on to know why we say that!

Meet Adrika & Parthiva

"Parthiva and I met while working on our first film together in Bombay. I was working with a film production house on a project for which he was hired as the cinematographer.  Conversations flowed over a film set, and as they say, the rest is history!", shares Adrika. "I am a Mangalorean, and Parthiva is a Maharashtrian-Konkani born. We wanted to stay true to the culture we both belong to, and that's exactly what you will see in our wedding pictures," she adds.

From The Bride

We wanted an intimate, less-is-more kind of a wedding with food being up there in the priority list for me. I was also not in favor of having a wedding in an over-populated city where guests would spend more time in traffic getting to our functions.  So, Mysore seemed like the right fit for my parents and me in terms of convenience of planning as well.

We did not get any planner on board; the entire wedding was planned by my mom, and my best friends! Our mehendi was a colorful, and vibrant event. So was our sangeet! We had a traditional, Mangalorean bunt wedding with minimal decor in shades of yellow and green. The venue was decorated marigold flowers and greens with intertwined twigs.

Except for one even that was in Bombay, all the others were at Windflower Resort and Spa. It's a beautiful property to say the least. The team there is great and was easily accessible from Bangalore for all the guests and also the specific Bangalore caterers that I had in mind for the different events. We also had a reception the following week in Bombay at The Club

I did most of my outfit and jewellery shopping from Bangalore and Bombay. For the mehendi, I wore a simple lehenga that I got made and for the sangeet, I wore a custom Anita Dongre lehenga. My wedding outfit was a traditional Kanjivaram from Vijaylakshmi Silks.

Parthiva wore a kurta pyjama and bandi for the mehendi, which a friend of ours designed. His sangeet outfit was by Shantanu and Nikhil, and for the wedding he wore a kurta and dhoti, teamed with a jacket or bandhgala from SVA. For the Bombay cocktail, he got a tux made, while all his shoes were designed by Artimen
