Quirky Goa Wedding With A Multi-Cultural Set-up & Fabulous Ideas!

BY Latha Sunadh | 23 Jun, 2018 | 1433 views | 3 min read

This bride did her own makeup and made her own invites! Just take a moment to understand her determination and her ideas - they are fab! Not just that, her Payal Singhal outfits were really cool and totally on point for a Goa wedding while the giveaways to guests, the leather travel tags on the chairs was so cute! The cherry on the cake was the Malayali wedding in the midst of all this - fab! The venue, Aashyana Lakhanpal more than made up for the drama while photography by WhatKnot Photography★ 4.7  kept us glued to our seats.

Meet Malvika & Pranay

"Pranay and I have technically known each other from BEFORE birth. Our moms used to carpool together to work. We spent most of our childhood pretending to hate each other, but alas, tequila - and the truth came out. Our last 7 years together have been fun and games, and we can’t wait for more in our married life," says Malvika.

From The Bride:

It was important to us to remain authentic to the traditions our families believe in, yet make the wedding personal and fun for us! We made sure our guests list was limited at 125, but ensured all our nearest and dearest were around. The key was dancing, drinking and the intimate moments together. For the invites, we made our own invites - from design on PowerPoint, to printing and even cutting. It was a time consuming but rewarding experience! Our venue, Aashyana Lakhanpal was truly a home away from home with a great beach view, cannot recommend the venue more for a wedding.  Our decor partners, Florance Flora Celebrations were amazing, they delivered much more than promised. Vedika helped us realise our ethnic, but minimalist, decor for the wedding. The mehendi was colourful, sangeet appropriately quirky. The Wedding appropriately classic and the beach stunning under the sunset.

What Knot was an incredible experience, with great results. Memories of a lifetime for sure. We wanted a good mix of strong photography, and a videographer to capture the fun. What Knot were around to capture all the key moments, without making their presence overtly felt. Parveen Sayed's mehendi lived upto our expectations. Although Parveen’s artists were unable to deliver intricate designs, they fully met my needs of simple, geometric, modern henna designs.  Ahuja Catering gave us excellent Goan and Punjabi food. Good street food too but that could be improved upon.

The surprise bit was that I was my own makeup artist. I tried a few make up artists, only to realise I wanted to own the aspects of my own make up. I spent months practicing, learning from YouTube gurus, and have to say was proud of the outcome. I could truly tailor the products to my needs to ensure the best result.
