Real Brides Reveal: The One Decor Idea That I Loved!

BY Latha Sunadh | 09 Nov, 2016 | 3951 views | 3 min read

You know, you go through the usual Mehendi / Sangeet / Wedding grind with a whole lot of themes and ideas. Usually it's Pinterest or you and your BFFs, and mostly your wedding planner and decorator that figure out all the decor trends. But every bride has a soft spot for one decor idea that really did it for them. So we asked 6 brides to tell us the one decor idea that had them at hello. Read on... “The best thing we loved about my decorator, Nilma's decor was that it is minimalistic and elegant. Since we had a colour theme of black, white or gold for our guests, Nilma used white and burlap as the theme for decor and a lot of yellow lights. My favourite was the Polaroid photo-booth with little ladders, frames, candles, flowers, crates and chalkboard signages – all of which fit very well with the theme" Deepika says: IMG_0960 IMG_0256

“Poonam from Poonam and Mayank Sharma was my decorator at the Mehendi and she did a fantastic job with the mehendi decorations. It was simple yet visually stunning with earthen pots and genda flowers and a hint of quirk. I love the genda phool entrance" Rajvi says:  463A6785_small (1) NAVC0301_small

"We had a Carnival complete with a rain dance, pool party, stage with foam and zorb balls – it was great fun. The zorb balls were really fun,” exclaimed Rajvi. I didn’t want orange genda phool anywhere in a 50 mile radius of the Mehendi venue so I kept everything yellow and cream and it was gorgeous. Added in a ton of favours, flower crowns, jingling bangles, colourful earrings and silk scarves for the guys, to spice it up - but no genda phool". Neha says: 463A03001 3M7A4484-1

“Day 3 was a Bohemian style brunch  – there was an island bar and over 100 custom made dream catchers hung all over the venue. Various activities were planned for a fun filled brunch like beer pong, live size Jenga, foot spa, limbo dance and hoola hoop. The dream catchers were amazing so were the giant monogram!" "The theme for the  event was – ‘The Desi Vintage Bride’. The bride’s entry was something unique created by The A-Cube Project★ 4.8 . Instead of the “flower bed a.k.a ‘Phoolon Ki Chadar’”, it was a canopy of gota, pom poms, origami birds and mirror hangings, which stole everyone’s attention"
