BY Apoorva | 09 Feb, 2017 | 9671 views | 2 min read

Honeymoons are supposed to be fun, exciting and a totally romantic vacation. Late honeymoons are a trend that is popping up everywhere. We asked 6 real brides on what their take was on their own late honeymoons and here is what they said!

Shruti says “Best decision ever! We had a destination wedding so it was a mini-vacation itself. Also, it was very taxing in terms of energy. I couldn’t imagine taking off on another vacation immediately. We honeymooned two months after our wedding which according to me was perfect!”

Priyanka says “I was initially against the idea but I think it was a good decision. It gave me ample time to set up my house (we shifted to a new place) and also breathe a little. We honeymooned in Maldives 3 months after!”

Esha says “We had a small destination wedding and our friends and family all stayed with us for the week. Since me and my husband couldn't take more time off work, we decided we would wait on the actual honeymoon. We marked our 6 month anniversary with our 10-day honeymoon. Super-fun!”

Vedika says “I suggested it and totally regretted it. I felt that it was like any other holiday and didn't feel –honeymoony. I thought that the break between the wedding and honeymoon would allow us to relax but I think going on the honeymoon would have relaxed us better.”

Devika says “Horrible idea. We wanted to go to Europe but the weather dint permit as we got married in December in India. It kept on getting delayed due to some or the other reason and we almost went closer to our 1-year anniversary than the actual wedding. Hated it.”

Varsha says “We dint get booking at a resort that we had planned for ages so Kevin suggested we postpone it by a couple of months. I dint really want that but had no option. We honeymooned at the resort we wanted to but that whole newly-married couple feeling had gone away which I really really wanted! That initial excitement and that whole ‘we just got married’ high was gone. Do not postpone your honeymoon for anything!!!”
