Vinita says

“I swear by Mangaldas market in Mumbai. Its huge so you have a huge array in terms of variety. From heavy benarasi fabrics for lehengas to gotapatti fabric they have all types of fabrics. They mostly have heavy fabric in white so that you can get it dyed with the colour you want. Make sure you go with at least a few hours to spare as it will take long to scout and search in this humongous market. “

Devika says

“Commercial Street in Bangalore. It’s a one shop stop that our entire family loves. Fazals and Sterling House are perfect for flowy fabrics for light lehengas or even printed material for dressy kurtis. Silver Plaza is another one for heavy, embroidered fabrics. If you are on a budget then go to Ibrahim Sahib Street where you can pick fabrics at affordable rates."

Darshita says

“I stay in the suburbs of Mumbai so Bandra works perfectly. There are three stores, Glanz, Neharika and Saroj in line which have the whole world of fabrics in them. They have simple materials as well as heavy kallis to make bridal lehengas so you can pick what you like. These are showrooms, so no negotiation happens.”

Radhika says

“Santacruz West station market! The thing I love about this market is that if you want to design an outfit, you not only get fabrics but also laces, borders, latkans, fancy buttons and much more all here. Shivam and Samrat are great for heavy material while Style Up in the Hasnabad lane is good for simpler printed material.”

Sharvari says

“Nothing like Mangaldas market in Mumbai. When I got married, I used to travel twice a month from Pune to Mumbai just to source fabrics for all my trousseau wear. Not only did it turn out to be immensely economical but I also found a lot of copies of designer wear fabrics which actually gave me ideas for newer outfits.”

Darshana says

“If you are looking for the latest and most trendy fabrics in the market then HP Singh at Nehru Place is the place to be. Since they are fabric makers themselves, they have a huge variety that you can select from. They also do 3d work on fabrics and unique designs which is perfect for bridal wear”
