Stunning Home Wedding With Eye-Catching Decor & Wonderful Candid Shots

BY Aakanksha | 03 Nov, 2021 | 3453 views | 4 min read

At-home weddings have an unmatched charm about them, and Ria & Sanil's celebrations show us exactly that. With loads of fun, eye-catching decor and moments that were precious, this Delhi wedding showed how to have an elegant, intimate affair without compromising on the fun of Indian weddings. Ria looked gorgeous in her red bridal lehenga and the decor was just stunning. What surprised us the most was that Ria's bridal mehendi was put by her own mother - making it extra extra special for Ria! Capturing the love, the joy and sheer madness of this home wedding was the expert team of Alma Wedding Photography★ 5 ! They ensured no moment goes unnoticed and no memory is left uncaptured.

Meet Ria & Sanil

Sanil and I first met about 8 years ago. I wanted to write a book and since he had already authored a few, I was hoping to get some advise. We instantly hit it off! The book then just became an excuse to get to know each other better, he did however edit my first ever draft. Meeting for coffee progressed to going out for dinners. I could talk to him for hours without hesitation. It just seemed to flow very naturally. 8 years ago though, time didn’t seem to be on our side and we abruptly parted ways. I fondly remembered him as the one that got away. We reconnected in 2019 when he slid into my dm’s wanting to meet again under the pretext of “work”. I made him wait about a month before I agreed because I wasn’t in the best head space at the time and wasn’t really looking for a relationship. We met at his house and decided to play Ludo so I brought my board along. We never ended up playing the game that night but talked for hours instead. We had many years of catching up to do. As it did 8 years ago, the conversation just flowed but the only difference was that this time it didn’t stop and I’ve never been more grateful.

The Mehendi

The Wedding

From The Bride:

Our wedding was on the 21st of February 2021. Keeping covid in mind, we decided on an intimate, at home, 25 people affair. We didn’t want anything traditional so we opted to stay away from the festive yellows and reds;  instead, we chose whites and pinks. We wanted the vibe to be rustic, chic, and cozy. The centre piece of our wedding was the wedding table which sat all our guests. The long table served as the venue for the after wedding ceremony toasts by our loved ones. This was also where we exchanged vows after the ceremony so it holds a special place in my heart.

Vendor Reviews:

Venue: My Husband's Home
This was also where his sister got married so it was really special and sentimental. I now get to wake up everyday in the house that I got married in and I think that’s beautiful.

Makeup Artist: Gayatri Sharma
I got super lucky with my makeup artist because she is also my best friend. Gayatri knew exactly what I wanted and I’ve loved her work long before I even thought I was going to get married so it was a perfect fit. I didn’t even have to do a trial because I trusted her skills so much! She far exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. A true magician!

Photographer: Alma Weddings
We chose Alma weddings as our photographers because they had previously done my sister in-laws wedding so I was familiar with their work. Neal and his team blended in like family and were such a joy to work with. We hardly noticed they were even there but they managed to capture moments that I didn’t even know were happening! Neal understood that I wanted to keep the style of pictures very candid and he did such a fabulous job! I couldn’t have dreamt up a better team if I tried!

Decor: Devika Sakhuja
She delivered exactly what I had showed her!
