Simple Intimate Delhi Wedding With A Dash Of Fun!

BY Latha Sunadh | 15 Feb, 2018 | 1703 views | 5 min read

Muted shades are coming back in style - greys, neutrals and of course, whites and beiges. This wedding too has the bride going over the colour wheel with pretty outfits in myraid hues - from a lilac Surendri to the grey-ish beige at the wedding. The groom's safa in bright colours offsets his simple sherwani and we just love the picture where the groom is blindfolded before he could see the bride. Now that's an innovative shot, innit? The Wedding & Reception at The Ramaya  along with Cocktail/Youngsters at Zorba made for a great backdrop while photographer Lakshya Chawla of Shutterdown - Lakshya Chawla★ 5  kept it cool and classy with the candid shots.

The Wedding

From The Bride:

We couldn’t have asked for a better, grander and quality venue like The Ramaya for our wedding. The venue is beautiful with a leveled vedi area. There is a huge open space as well as a banquet, making it one of the rain-safe venues without compromising on the perfect Delhi outdoor wedding. To top it off, we even had a
lavish menu and how! Pulkit (the owner) specially curated this menu for us. Every item on the menu was impeccable and delicious. A very special mention to the Chaat station - this was out of the world (each of our guests who had the chaat echoed this). Not only was the taste extraordinary but the presentation of the same in a wedding setting was brilliant (Dahi Bhalla served in a Mason Jar, Mutter kulcha in mini kadhai’s, pav bhaji in mini pans, so on and so forth). The Ramaya has one of the best food capabilities amongst venues/caterers.

As for the decor, we wanted a low-wastage, environment-friendly wedding decor. Pulkit respected this requirement of ours and figured out of ways of reducing wastage. We had almost no real flowers at the wedding. We just had 20-30 flowers at the entrance, which were also agreed to be composted by Ramaya. Pulkit listened to every detailing and suggestion of ours for the decor and delivered it perfectly. He gave us multiple ideas as well. For example, for the centerpiece, instead of plucked flowers (which is the norm at weddings), he suggested red flower plants (in their entirety, placed in pots). These were sent back to the nursery next morning to live for more days.

Ramaya's servicing is par excellence. He was invested in each of the elements right from the start. He went out of his way to give us our perfect wedding. For getting ready and pre-wedding shots, he happily gave us his pool-side bungalow. For the menu tasting, he actually created a mini mock-up of the gazebos and decor elements that he was planning as a part of the wedding decor and we had our tasting in that setup. I don’t think any other venue takes such pain for a client’s peace of mind for a deal that’s confirmed. And this list just goes on!

My outfits were great too. With Surendri, the brand’s philosophy, I believe, is to create unique, sustainable designs for strong, independent, real women. And it surely delivers! Much thought has also been given to the pricing and the clothes aren’t exorbitantly priced. For my Mehendi outfit, I found Yogesh’s foil work designs very unique. So, I went to meet him, discussed the possibilities with him and in the first meeting itself placed the order.
I wanted to explore a lilac/purple hue for my Mehendi outfit as well as some quirky, bird-like designs. Yogesh designed a beautiful silver foil work lehenga for me with a lilac shade as the base. He added love-birds (“Mithu” design as he calls it) at the top, with floral designs at the bottom of the skirt. He increased the design on the lehenga at the time of production himself (because he thought that it would make the outfit look better and more complete) at no extra cost!
Moreover, the way Yogesh deals with his clients is extraordinary. He is professional, courteous, delivers on his commitments, and goes out of his way to ensure a perfect outfit.
