Not using the wedding cake hack Here is the thing- if you have a guest list of say 300, you dont need to get a fancy fondant cake of 7 kg. Get a fancy fondant cake of 2-3 kg to cut on stage. Then tell the baker to make the exact same flavour but a simple one layer cake which you can cut up and serve later. Anyway only family will feed it to you on stage and the other cake can be displayed with the dessert. Splurging on a real mathapatti Honestly, the gold plated ones look just as nice and you might not even wear that chunky piece of jewellery too often , so don't splurge on real accessories.
