Sister Of The Groom Style: Meet Twinkle!

BY Sakshi | 06 Nov, 2019 | 2008 views | 3 min read

Who doesn't love a beautifully styled sister of the groom? Well, we sure do, and love sharing deets on their looks and styling with you, especially if they've managed to do that on a budget. And here is one such sister, who really caught our eye. Twinkle stood out on her brother's wedding, and we got her to give us the breakdown and details on all her different looks, so here they are!

"It was my brother's wedding in February 2019. From being the wedding planner to helping others fix their clothes and getting all the vendors in place or fixing the menu, everything was done by me. I believe in personalization and ensured that all small aspects were customized as per the couple, even the wedding favors and mithai ka dabbas. We also arranged a surprise proposal for the bride as this was an arranged marriage. Amidst all the wedding preps, I hardly got a chance to do running around for my outfits."

"I chose to customise my own outfits as I am on the skinnier side and readymade outfits do not fit me perfectly most of the time. So I designed some of my own outfits and brought them to life. I had the designs in mind and some references and shared it with the local designers, who rather did a great job."

Look 1: Mehendi

For the Mehendi, I wanted to keep it really simple as it was going to be a small event with just intimate family around. I opted for a draped skirt along with a crop top with tassels and a jacket. To amp it up a little, I chose tassel earrings of a contrasting colour. I kept my footwear simple & wore juttis so that I would be able to freely dance & enjoy the event.

My mehendi outfit was from Mahi’s boutique, Kalyan, and cost me approximately INR 8K.

Look 2: Cocktail

For the cocktail, I wanted a cocktail dress/gown that would flatter my body type. Hence, I went for a sequin embroidered gown which was partially fish-cut and partially flared for the ease of dancing. I opted for a rose gold diamond necklace and earrings with a statement ring to keep the look chic.

My cocktail outfit cost me approximately INR 10K.

Look 3: Wedding

This lehenga I chose to wear for my brother's wedding was quite heavy and looked almost bridal. I have had a ton of people asking me if it was my marriage looking at it! I sourced it from my boutique Elite Women, which is non-operational at the moment. It was fully embroidered lehenga and since it was a day look, I wanted to keep it extremely simple with accessories. I went for a subtle choker along with jhumkas and a maangtikka. The highlight of the lehenga was, however, the personalized latkan. I sourced it from an Instagram page called @shivash_creation.

The lehenga I wore for the wedding cost me INR 50k approximately.

Look 4: Reception

The reception outfit was my favorite one! I just wanted to keep it different yet go with the ruffled trend. I wanted to also keep it slightly indo-western as I believe it flatters my body better. I chose grey (all thanks to WMG articles) as it was trending and an offbeat color. I had no reference and literally went with what the designer and my mind said. It was a floral embroidered lehenga along with a ruffled dupatta. I went with a diamond necklace and danglers for earrings to enhance the outfit. The hairstyle just added to the look perfectly well.
