Stunning beachside wedding in Goa

BY The WMG Bride | 02 Jul, 2015 | 6097 views | 3 min read

Peach may just be our favourite wedding color this season. Combine it with a rose gold mandap,  a crystal chandelier, and a gorgeous lehenga on a bride who in her own words has 'her own dabanng style' - you really have yourself a wedding for the books. Love the colorful and crazy mehendi which was the perfect foil for the calm and serene wedding shot by Sidharth Sharma

Meet Harsh and Deeksha

Deeksha recounts "So we signed up on a matrimonial site after giving up on trying to find someone by ourselves and our parents had no idea. I found him about 4 days later and we just couldn't stop chatting. We had so much in common and thought-  well even if this doesn't work, I've made a really good friend. 2 weeks later we set a date to meet and the rest as they say is history".

The Mehendi

We have both been independent and on our own for a while so we decided that we, and not our parents, will plan this wedding. All we wanted was a fun wedding with good food, booze and people who have seen us grow up or have grown up with us.
I personally designed all the decor and since this was my most precious production, I put in lots of little details to make my closest people feel special. For the cocktail we made badges that would casually introduce the families to each other so people wouldn't wonder 'yeh kiski side se hain?' (Outstanding idea we think!). There were loads of circus-themed props and a photobooth of course.
For the mehendi we went all out - from the truck bar  to balloon shooting, from the traditional chudi and parandis to mehendi stamps and bindis, we ensured we also had games like tug of war, truth or dare and a few drinking games that ensured I would definitely not see the groom till the jaimala (Ha Ha)
My bridesmaids each got a gift bag from me with a woman empowering book, bottle of red wine, a charm saying Chief bridesmaid, chocolates (of course) and a nightie from Victorias secret with a note saying ' Thank you for being my angel'. We gave our parents customised wine and whiskey glasses, cards thanking them and I got a diamond vintage ring for my sister and co-wedding planner along with a sister of the bride charm.
For my look as a bride, I was obviously restricted by my size and my innate unwillingness to look over the top or like a Christmas tree. I'm 32, I know I want comfort and I know what suits me so I had some things custom-made because I have my own dabanng style and I'm definitely not showing my midriff to anyone!   I did all my shopping in Mumbai, and even though I tried Delhi I just couldn't find anything that had not been done to death.
