Stunning Pastel Wedding In Jalandhar With Multi-Cultural Ceremonies!

BY Latha Sunadh | 26 Jul, 2018 | 3155 views | 3 min read

When it comes to unconventional weddings, this one's a big one guys. Have you ever seen a Punjabi Anand Karaj with a touch of Marathi pheras? Exactly, what we got here. The pretty pastel wedding saw so many imaginative ideas - from a fun haldi to the vintage Mehendi to a glam Sangeet all put together beautifully by Baraati Inc★ 5 , the wedding planners. Photography by Recall Pictures★ 3.5  captured all the madness beautifully.

"We were both working in the same hospital as we are both doctors and that's how we met," explains Rajas.

From The Planners:

We had five functions, all of them were fun - there was the Jaago, Mehendi, Haldi, Sangeet, Wedding ( Anand Karaj & Marathi style). It was a coming together of two cultures - a Big Fat Punjabi-Marathi Wedding.

Keeping in mind the importance of a Jaago ceremony in a Punjabi wedding, and with Jalandhar having seen most versions of it, the family wanted it to be larger than & full of life! The home decor was smartly designed to be the same for all functions being held at the house- as doing only floral work & changing it over the 5 days span of the wedding events would be too expensive & expansive. The house instead was adorned with colorful embroidery hoops which added the needed color burst against the white backdrop of the house.

Mehendi was great fun with an underlying theme of Popsicles & Cupcakes. This function needed to be about the Bride- sweet as cupcakes and colorful like popsicles. Using these candy motifs were incorporated not just in the decor, but in the Menu Planning and Giveaways as well. The giveaways were Waffle Cones filled with personalized Chocolates. To be smart about costs, we again kept the floral use to the minimum- making the decor pop with use of colorful props. The DJ was given a classic Kaali-peeli Taxi for his set-up, incorporating an element of the Groom's side that was from Bombay.

Sangeet was called The Boombox Effect. The stage for this event was created using an LED screen as background & a rotating mechanism created with cut out MDF boards in the shape of the speakers. There were performances by the entire family, choreography done by Baraati Inc's associate choreography team of Karan Acchipilya. The bride's brothers did a bhangra jig with props which was a surprise performance for the bride. Suryaveer took over to perform classic Bollywood & Sufi numbers which was a perfect treat for the couple.

Anand Karaj & Reception were kept serene with white and blush as a color palette. The ceremony went smoothly and peacefully as planned and was followed by the cake cutting ceremony at the reception where Gurdaas Maan blessed the couple by his presence and performance. The Marathi Wedding was post the reception lunch at sundown, following all rituals involved from the groom's side. A small mandap was created for their Marathi pheras.
