Sunny Mumbai Wedding With Smartly Combined Functions!

BY Sakshi | 01 Sep, 2020 | 4322 views | 3 min read

While this one isn't really a lockdown wedding, what we loved about this one was how the couple combined functions to make them more fun and make the wedding tighter instead of lasting a whole week with multiple functions. They combined their wedding and reception, with the bride just changing up her look a little, and the mehendi with the sangeet, which turned out to be a spontaneous yet amazing idea. Sakshi and Jimit's wedding had a ton of nice ideas, with the pretty mandap to the beautiful bridal lehenga. The wedding shot by The Wedding Salad★ 4.9 looked like a hoot!

Meet Sakshi & Jimit

"So, we know each other from school, like same school, same foyer but things clicked between us around 4 years back when we met at a common friends party", Sakshi tells us.

The Wedding & Reception

From The Couple

The first time our parents met, Jimit suggested having a small intimate wedding and nothing else, no sangeet, no reception but my dad replied with ‘Reception toh hoga hee aur mere 1500 guests to aayenge hee!’

Honestly, the sangeet wasn’t planned, it was supposed to be a mehendi function followed by a live band. All the dance performances were a surprise. My brother went crazy managing it because he was the only one who knew about all the performances. Everyone just wanted to dance and so Jimit and I kept planning things without telling each other, thinking we’ll surprise the other but, our friends and cousins went mad because they ended up dancing from both sides and had to literally think before talking to us because both of wanted to surprise the other. The entire event was more like a surprise for our parents. Mehendi give-aways were designed and made by Sakshi herself.

Vendor Reviews

Venue: Grand Hyatt, Mumbai
Hyatt was our first choice for the wedding because we loved that open area, with a beautiful waterfall behind us and since my brothers sangeet had happened there a year back, we didn’t have to enquire much.
