It's so surreal, yet definitely happening, and like it or not, the hours, days, and weeks following that proposal or engagement is guaranteed to be a whirlwind. And welcome to the madness of wedding planning. While you settle in the nerves of your newly engaged feel, there is a list of things that you need to check off from your tasklist. Call Your Loved Ones

While we know that everyone is all about the ‘gram, but your super close family and friends should hear it from you. Make a point to call or text everyone who is close to you and tell them this happy news personally! You wouldn’t like to know that your BFF got engaged via social media, would you?

Have A Date Night

While we understand that you must have had a fab time during your proposal but chances are that your partner was anxious as he was planning the proposal, so this is a great time to just sit and relax. It’s also where you two can discuss what you both want from the wedding before the floor gets open to the family!

Discuss A Wedding Timeline

Some couples might want to tie the knot immediately while some may want to wait for a year or more. While there is no right or wrong in this, you may want to discuss a tentative timeline that you both are okay with – say next December or maybe next summer – and then work from there!

Don’t Book Anything

It’s easy to get excited and want to start the planning and booking immediately, but we would advise you to stop and take a breath. DO NOT book anything unless your wedding date and venue is finalized. Everything depends on these two details and however close your friend’s wedding vendor is, you want to check out all the options before booking anything!

Have A Family Lunch

If your families haven’t met before, this is a great occasion to celebrate as well as meet the other side of the family. Have a lunch or brunch where you all can relax and enjoy each other’s company. This is a great place to even start discussing engagement party plans or even wedding details!
