If you’re the kind of bride who wants to go all-in on the trend of including personalised details in her wedding, this blog will be right up your alley! While we have seen quite a few brides customise their lehengas with initials and go high on personalisations with their wedding decorations, here’s one who took it a notch up by not just DIY-ing her mehendi outfit but her bridal chaadar as well.
Meet Nidhi Dokania, the proud co-founder of Womenaura, who hand-letters and creates personalised gifting options & wedding favours for a living. So when it was her time to be the bride, she didn’t let her creative instincts go to waste. Firstly, she steered clear of the usual phoolon ki chaadar and DIY-ed one with ghungroos and laces and hand-painted it with her personalised promises to self. Additionally, she also got her family to pen down wishes for her on it.
Sounds interesting? Watch this BTS video to get a glimpse into the entire making process and her idea behind it.
Spilling the beans about designing her Mehendi outfit, she shared, “Right before my wedding functions were about to start, I was tested positive, and everything seemed to fall apart. We first had to move the venue from a different city to our own, and then postpone the dates. Everything seemed to be not the way it was supposed to be and to keep myself sane while I was quarantined, I decided to paint the outfit for my Mehendi.
First designed it digitally before I could move to the fabric. I painted little memories of us (me and @its.insidemyhead )on it starting from school, to the long-distance and everything else. The 7 days went by and it started feeling right. I was overwhelmed to see how it turned out to be.
Don't forget to spot my groom groove on a bandi that I painted for him as well.”
Well, we're totally rooting for these ideas! And if you're too, don't forget to take down cues and add your personal touches to your bridal elements.
