This Fashion Editor At Vogue Got Married Under The Sky In Mumbai & It Was Gorgeous!

It was a balmy afternoon in Mumbai when Priyanka, a Fashion Editor with Vogue and Hashim, a photographer extraordinaire tied the knot in Mumbai. The two had an intimate, cozy wedding with multi-cultural ceremonies - a Bohri Thaal dinner and pheras - the perfect 2018 wedding. The mogra decor was as simple as they come and Priyanka's mellow sabya lehenga was just right for the day. We're in love with this subtle show. The venues, Planet Godrej Lawns, Indigo and Tote made for a great canvas while photography by Mark Swaroop Photography took style up a notch for this pretty couple!
Meet Priyanka & Hashim
"Hashim and I met 12 years ago when we were studying mass media in college in Bombay and since then been together," says Priyanka.
From The Bride:
Our first thought when we decided to get married was that it had to be an intimate wedding- we both wanted the vibe of a backyard home party and no formalities - just great music, food and energy. We wanted all our closest friends there and just have fun. Both our venues were the closest we could find to host a intimate gathering. Indigo's colonial architecture and Tote's trees created the perfect backdrop for our close-knit celebrations with our closest family and friends.
My brief to myself was I want to be able to dance, jump , smile and laugh in my outfits and not feel stifled. All my outfits turned out exactly the way I imagined with the right amount of sparkle ;)
Our mehendi was not a traditional mehendi and I wanted it to be more classic and use the amazing architecture of Indigo. Saba of Atisuto, got the brief bang-on and created a beautiful atmosphere with lots of greens and whites and fairy lights. I want the vibe to look like a house party and we had geometric candle holders all over the window sills and hanging lanterns in the sky for the dinner set up.
When we met Sajjad & Neil, our only brief to them was it needs to not look very manicured and perfect - the vibe had to continue of a home garden wedding and 'stars in the sky' feel. They were super cooperative and helped making my moodboard come alive!
Deepa Gurnani did our Mehendi Favours. I got the New York designers to do these very cool crystal and thread bracelets as favours in gun metal and gold to go with the vibe of the party. I wanted to give something that people would always wear and Jay and Deepa packaged them super cutely in little printed bags.
Hashim and me both were pretty certain we did not want Bollywood and commercial tunes both nights. We wanted both our parties to have different vibes. Stuart D Costa really got our Mehendi and Cocktail going with a super fun mix - there was not one person who wasn't dancing till the lights came off. He played a large serving of electro swing and followed it with some throwback 90's hip hop and some Bollywood thrown in. We wanted music we all could relate to! Backstreet Boys suddenly was the most popular tune of the night!
