Varun Dhawan's Wedding Setup Was Dreamy & Ethereal!

BY Sakshi | 18 Mar, 2021 | 2889 views | 3 min read

Celebrity wedding decor is the gold standard when it comes to the latest wedding decor inspiration. We loved the cozy, intimate vibe of Dia Mirza's wedding at her house, and if fairytale and magical is more your style, then we are sure you can take some inspiration from Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal's wedding decor. They had their wedding celebrations in Alibaug, which was a small affair by Bollywood standards thanks to COVID, but we loved the whole vibe of their decor at every function at an outrageously gorgeous venue!

Set in the gleaming white spaces of The Mansion House, with its sparkling azure pool and lush tropical gardens, kissed by the gentle breeze of the Arabian Sea and aglow with a thousand fairy lights, the venue was truly a piece of heaven. “The brief given to us by the family was specific but nuanced,” says Sumita Ghai creative director of Eventshoppe, a Mumbai-based company that specializes in bespoke wedding designs and services. She is incidentally the owner and the spirit behind The Mansion House, a unique country venue for bespoke occasions, where the wedding took place.

The Mehendi

Each event had a distinctive look and feel. The mehendi was a romantic bridal bouquet of cabanas, floral table cloths, and sun umbrellas in shades of delicate pink to match the bride’s outfit, strewn with flowers flown in from all over the world. "A Mediterranean brunch in an English Rose Garden."

The Haldi

In contrast, the haldi was a riot of yellow and orange. A playful jhoola (swing) against a floral curtain of marigolds and resplendent giant heliconias lent a whimsical touch to the traditional anointing of the groom.

The Wedding

But of course, the piece de resistance was the wedding ceremony: romantic and ethereal, combining stylish old-world elegance with a contemporary feel. The baaratis entered through a verdant, floral bower festooned with an ornate chandelier. They headed for the mandap, a wooden structure bedecked with fluttering Pampas, vines of trailing rajnigandha, and fresh green sprigs of ivy, eucalyptus, and springeri.

The bride then made her way to the stage on a path lined with glowing candles and swaying pampas, escorted by her brothers who carried a floral chadder over her head. The couple exchanged garlands below a cloud of gypsophila - a symbol of everlasting love and innocence - surrounded by swathes of twinkling fairy lights that cascaded from the roof to the treetops like a celestial canopy, while a hundred floating lanterns turned the pool to liquid gold.

The overall effect was, in a word, divine!
