Harkiran Basra, hands down to her creativity and commitment to work. My bridal lehnga was a piece of art as said by my family and friends. Harkiran made my lehnga as I visioned, the personalizations and key to detail is to the finest. I loved how she asked me to write the words in my handwriting so she can have the embroidery done as is. I would have never thought of it. She is not just a regular bridal vendor, she will put her complete efforts to create a master piece for your big day. One thing I would like to suggest to all the brides to be is book in a year advance because there are so many things you are working on and your outfit is not something you would want to be stressing about. Me and husband discussed and changed our mind more than 100 times on what outfits will look like and hardest part was to choose colour. From white, blue, purple, maroon and green, we decided on green. I love greens and so does my husband. But then there is not one kind of green !! You have so many different options to choose from light, dark, emerald, mint and many more… Then we did some search on colour contrasts and throughout the process @harkiranbasra was involved. I am so glad i could discuss everything very openly with her and she have helped me alot! Finally we had our colour.I wanted my lehnga with 8 metre flare and fully embroidered. (If you know me i like simple outfits more over fully embroidered) this was the time to do something different 😁🤣. It was totally worth it! I am so glad with colour choice we made and the way it looked. @harkiranbasra is my favourite designer when it comes to wedding lehnga and was best ever decision i chose her. Average experience with miss Basra .. she is overpriced … even she always trying to fight with other vendors too .. but she made my dress perfect …

I struggled with whether or not to write this review. I do not want to disparage anyone but if this review saves even one bride/family from going through what my family went through it will be worth it. I have been following Harkiran for a few years, when my sister got engaged I showed her Harkian's instagram and she fell in love with one of Harkiran's designs. My mom was very hesitant as she has heard horror stories from people about missing orders etc. To ease my mom's concerns we had a long talk with Harkiran in November 2021. She walked us through the process, my sister's wedding was in May 2022. She stated she would start making the outfits in mid march. We would get multiple samples of work, colors etc to make sure we were happy with everything. Everything was very methodical, my mom told her even though the wedding was in May we were going to be travelling 2 weeks before the wedding and would need the outfits by last week of April. She agreed this would be no problem. In all we ordered 7 outfits, 2 for the bride and 5 for members of the bridal party. We finalized and paid deposit in December 2021. Measurements for all outfits were sent in December 2021. We live in the US and made it clear we would need outfits in a timely fashion as we expected some minor tailoring adjustments would be needed My mom asked for updates frequently and was reminded she would not start until March. We waited until March to request updates again. She told us dupattas from 4 of the other outfits were on their way (after multiple repetitive texts about them), we asked for updates on bridal outfits and received no real answer except on March 21 when she told us we were on track for delivery in Mid April. We texted, called, emailed near daily. On April 7 she told us we were on track for delivery at the end of April. We asked for pictures. On April 8 she told us she would said pictures the following week. We never received sample colors or embroidery swatches (except from her swatch book but never the outfit as promised). The last week of april she was asking us to clarify measurements (we sent these in December). Ignoring our concerned messages about delivery time. She finally responded to an email on 5/2 and stated "don't worry everything will be done, it's just that it's taking longer than expected". On 5/2 she told us the suits would be done by 5/7 and shipped (wedding date of 5/21+22). On 5/6 she told us they would not be done until 5/14 and she would be sending them to NY (wedding in Michigan) with her family friends and we would need to make arrangements to get them from NY to Michigan. She also told us this friend was uncomfortable taking the outfits but she had convinced them to do so. As you can imagine the stress levels were so high. My sister (the bride) was in tears daily. My dad was able to get in touch with a friend of his who was leaving India 5/10 for USA. We begged her to finish the outfits by 5/10, she told us she could not do this. My dad was able to convince his friend to change his flight to 5/16 to wait for the outfits. On 5/13 (24 hours before pick up and before ANY completion pictures had been sent) she demanded we pay the balance of what we owed her. At this point she did not even tell us what the final cost of the bridal outfits were. We had already paid a hefty deposit. I immediately left work to try to find the fastest wiring service but as she told us on a Friday that she needed immediate payment our options were limited. The fastest transfer I could get was Monday but she said no her "investors" would not allow her to release the outfits without immediate payment. We then paid rush fees to transfer money to my cousins (over 400,000 INR). We understand she needed payment but do not understand why she waited until the last minute to ask us, adding more stress to a stressful situation. She told us riots and Eid were the reason our outfits (that were ordered and deposit paid in December) were delayed. We ordered several other outfits from Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Mumbai. All reached on time, no one else made excuses. My sister's wedding outfit was beautiful and perfect. Her reception outfit was not what she asked for but acceptable. We received outfits 2 days before her wedding. Rushed to find matching accessories for the reception outfit which was different tones than we asked for. We were unable to find a tailor who could make adjustments to the outfits in such a short time period. With flight change fees, rush shipping, transfer fees it cost us an additional 230,000 INR to receive the outfits. We could have purchased a few additional outfits with this money. Harkiran gave us a discount of 6,000 INR to makeup for all she put us through. She promised us "extras", none of that was received either. I hope this review helps any bride from overseas who is ordering, if you order from Harkiran please stay on top of deadlines and do not accept her excuses, demand proof outfits have been started and follow up frequently. She put us through so much stress on what should have been a happy time. Edit to rebut claims by Harkiran. “Agreed upon date” was never May 15! (Wedding May 21). No extras were given. Suit prices were adjusted bc she failed to make what she promised. The only unprecedented event was that she lied to us and failed to deliver our order on time. Again as we had sent thousands of US dollars to her already we had no problem making payment but she did not even show us completion pictures until May 13, she did not even give us a total until May 13. Where we to guess what we owed?

To be honest i dont really know where to start. I remember that i saw harkiran’s page on instagram and i loved all her designs. I started talking to her in 2018 😬 , even though nothing was finilised but one thing i was sure that i will be Basra’s Bride. Finally day came in 2022 when i finally recieved both my Wedding and reception lehnga also My Man’s Sherwani. No words can actully describe what she does, Like i said to her over the phone, tuhade Lehnge bolde a like them need no introduction or reference. Harkiran and i talked few times over the phone and she told me from your voice i know what you need ( truly i was so confused about design i want) She created two beautiful peacocks on my wedding lehenga and told me its you and your raman. I was crying with happiness of her thoughts she puts in. I gave her my budget which she went over (ofcourse she told me advance about) but when i saw all our outfits my mind was blown away with quality, the details (i was like even if i had paid alot more i would not mind at all) No one could do what she did for me.i mean how do you do it. Also those 🦚 on raman’s palla. And thank you for stunning reception lehenga as well. Twirl twirl was all i did for two days and could not get enough of flare❤️❤️ @harkiran Basra kindly book my orders for all big events of my lifetime. God bless you. My wedding was during the pandemic, which meant I couldn’t go to India and pick out all my outfits like I had planned. After talking to Harkiran I knew I could trust her with my wedding outfit. Her customer service was amazing. She listened to what I wanted, but also gave me advice when I needed it. Harkiran ended up making my sangeet and wedding outfit and my husband’s sherwani and they were perfect. Harkiran kept me in the loop at every stage, this included video calling me once the material was dyed, she showed me what the colour looked like in natural lighting. She also sent me constant photos and asked for approval of sample work before actually doing the embroidery on my fabric. This meant that there were no surprises when I got my delivery! Harkiran made shopping for my wedding outfit so easy and would highly recommend her !

Where do I start with this amazing woman? Harkiran was phenomenal from start to finish. She invested time to figure out what I wanted and we bounced different ideas and shared inspiration from art work to Persian carpets. I had a beautiful white lengha designed with a gota heavy dupatta for my pre wedding shoot. A complete heirloom piece. It was made in record time and delivered so quick to London too. What’s more, Harkiran even went through the effort to get me my wedding ganeh as I needed a special bridal one and some for the ladies in the house! Who goes above and beyond like that? I am now in the process of getting my next piece designed for my wedding trosseau. Beyond amazing!

I wore three outfits for my wedding designed by Harkiran.All three were unique in itself. For our Anand Karaj I decided on wearing a similar Salwar Kameez like me my mom wore in 1991 for her Anand Karaj. Harkiran instantly got what look I wanted and was honest about every detail. She also suggested me to choose bright magenta for my Salwar Kameez. At first I was unsure but I trusted her and I’m thankful I did💖 For my Jaggo I wore a beautiful seagreen Anarkali with Sharara. Everyone loved it and I felt beyond beautiful. My third outfit was my Lehnga I wore after Anand Karaj. I picked Mehndi with Cherry Red. I wore a Harkiran Basra outfit on my wedding day and that was I would say one of the best decisions I ever made. When we first met, i told her what i want by showing a few celebrity pictures and she roughly designed a lehnga for me on a page and also showed me the various fabrics that were appropriate for me considering my body frame. After that we were constantly in touch for every single detail from deciding color to embriodery to neck and dupatta design etc. She was very meticulous and didn't compromise on anything and sent me pictures and videos while my lehnga was getting embroidered and asked if i want any changes. I was stunned with the final result coz it was far better than what i had in my mind initially. Also, she is a very easy-going person who makes you comfortable right away and you can easily describe what you want. I can never thank her enough for making my day extra special. She even helped me with my husband's outfit.

If there was a zero rating I would probably choose that tbh. I’ll cut to the chase, I basically got my ticket to come to India just to get my wedding lehnga from her (to pick it up). She was so nice over the phone via whatsapp etc. I loved her work and really wanted to collaborate with her for my special day. She won my trust instantly. She never sent me a contract and never gave me a timeline she just told me your lehnga will be ready on this date. I said great and there I was in India from the states. I had sent her my deposit of 80k from the states. When I sat down to meet with her she didnt show up for 2 hours. When she did show up she basically told me she didnt even have a sample piece of cloth ready. And I had traveled there just for my lehnga! I won’t even write out my frustration and heart break. I trusted her so much. Only good thing that happened was she returned my deposit which I am very thankful for. But all of this caused me and my family so much stress. It wasted a lot Of my time and I was really heart broken. thanks to her ill never trust an indian vendor again.

Kiran made my wedding lehnga for me and she was an absolute pleasure to work with! I travelled from the states to India and only had a few hours to meet with her and during the time we met- she was meticulous and transparent about the whole process. We collaborated on my vision and she really took the time to understand what I wanted to look like on my wedding day! After our initial meeting, we talked a lot via WhatsApp. She is a strong communicator and keeps you in the loop about every little detail! She has a strong eye for detail and she is very capable of making sure your vision is executed exactly the way you want. During the whole process- she was a total breeze to work with!
