The decor was setup on the stage for the reception in the night and then in the center of the hall for the wedding on the next day. I had asked Poonam Sharma to do the decor for the marriage function for my daughter. I have only the deepest appreciation for how she approached my requirement . She is a very polished and gentle personality. 1) She quickly understood my brief and realised that I wanted understated and classy decor 2) Not once did she try to push a more profitable option and in fact quickly changed in one case the decor from orchids to marigolds since the color worked more for us. One must admit that this was the first wedding in the family for a long time; or at least the first that I had to work on, in my life. We wanted a simple and elegant decor and created a presentations ourselves by looking up various images online. We are away from India and had our uncle coordinate our event. After initial email discussion, Poonam agreed to our requests in conversation. On the day, we found the general decor was fine but the entrance welcome signs and arch were shabby. The photo frames we had requested for was too high and barely utilized because of this. When you pay 2,00,000 you expect good quality service but we felt that was lacking. After the event, I wrote to Poonam to express concerns but she got completely defensive and did not accept the inadequacies. I would rate Poonam 3/5 because of the missed details and the complete "don't care" attitude I'm seeing now that the payment is complete. If you have a lot of money and don't care about the details, go for Poonam!
