Marrying your best friend is a dream come true but there’s this arduous task of posing with him. And there enters Swagat, your best friend from a decade back to help you ease into the process. I had set my heart on being an SMP bride the day Swagat found his passion in photography. Recommending poses to non posers is something that any good photographer would do (which he too did considering the fact that I and my husband are awful in that), but Swagat here kicked it up a notch when he fixed my make-up, sneaked in coffees, helped in carrying that lehenga, made sure my parents clicked a few pictures. And that scaled up when he actually started the ritual of tossing flowers during our pheras (well the routine people for that were sleeping!!!! Overnight Odia wedding you see😆). So SMP here is a huge huge recommendation for anyone who’s looking for a photographer who acknowledges your needs, is thoughtful and creative and treats your values and rituals with immense respect.

It was indeed a pleasure working with Swagat and his team. They are a very strong team who compliment each other. SMP brides are very special for Swagat and he treats them in a special way. He and his team know exactly what they want and they get the work done really effectively. From where do I start! I have known Swagat for last 6 years and the first time I saw his haldi clicks I was clear about being a "SMP Bride." When my wedding got finalised the first thing that I did was called up Swagat and told him these are the dates and I want you to shoot the entire wedding from both sides. Since then, everything has fallen in place.  They say one must be so comfortable with their photographer that are even ok to cry or lash out their feelings or get caught in the most uncomfortable scenarios and with Swagat, I always had that space where I could clear and empty my mind admist the chaos of the rituals and he would simply listen and take away all the significance.  The most unique quality about "SMP Photography" is their Team work and the amount of thought they put into the wedding even without making people  aware of it. His team never pointed out any flaws, infact I felt super comfortable and confident in my own skin. I felt like I was celebrating me, nothing to be concious about! As a bride, I was so confident working with them, they almost made me forget about my side arms or flabby elbows or my gums.. which is rare. I felt Perfect!! The way I was, was perfect and that has beautifully been captured in his clicks.  It was an honour being "SMP Bride"  I am still confused about which photograph should be the first post, or from where do I start posting my bridal portfolio. I have been brainstorming for quite sometime now. I guess I should just start posting. One advise to all the brides out there, on your wedding day keep minimum one hour just to get your portfolio done. We found Swagat through the WedMeGood website and approached him for covering our wedding. Since the first conversation, this guy seemed like someone me and my husband can be friends with. There was no ice to break. Let’s say we were looking for a photographer and got a friend as bonus. Wondering where should I begin with Swagat. Let me go a more non-traditional route - He knows his craft very well. We finalized his team for covering both the bride’s and groom’s side events. I wouldn’t want to go into the usual stuff about his professionalism, techniques, skills, knowledge on lighting etc. I think his portfolio does enough justice by speaking for itself. I wanted to focus on the qualities which I think makes him an amazing catch for your wedding because it makes him stand out from the herd - 1.Apart from just capturing the right moments, he has a knack of creating moments for you. He is very smart to quickly make use of an opportunity that dawns upon him in a matter of seconds. There was this one instance when he plotted with my friends to catch me off-guard and smear haldi all over my face. My face was at the mercy of around 7-8 people. I was in a state of shock. But little did I know that he brilliantly captured those moments and to this day they are my favorite photographs of the whole lot. I think its his current cover picture of his Facebook page (Swagat Mohanty Photography), so please check it out and show some love. 2.I was a very meticulous bride who perhaps was not easy to deal with at all times. I just had to know everything about lighting, frames, colors, themes etc. He always entertained every question of mine. From giving me recommendations on décor, make-up to even helping me make a choice between my Mehendi outfits. Thank you for making me pick the lehenga over the maxi dress. 3.This guy has an amazing emotional quotient. He knows how to deal with all the different kinds of people you would find at a wedding – the bride (which trust me is not an easy job to deal with during my Bridezilla moments), friends (it’s easy to be friends with him) and family / relatives (very respectful) and others. 4.He has been an amazing friend during the whole wedding. He was my main Candid photographer. So he pretty much had to deal with a lot of me (:P) and follow me around. He has a very friendly presence that one would probably need during stressful moments. He mediated with my friends, called my family for me if I did not see them around, cracked a ‘not-always-funny’ joke or just talk about random stuff to get my mind off somebody’s snarky remark. 5.Our wedding ran over time. My vidai happened at 2AM in the morning. He convinced his team to stay back for a few additional hours, so that I don’t miss out on a very important moment. This just goes to speak volumes about himself and his commitment to capturing all your moments. In short, it has been a year to my wedding and I am still confused about which photograph makes it to the wedding album because there are just too many amazing photographs to choose from. But that’s a good problem to have isn’t it ? To sum it up, I think I would marry my husband again just to get our event photographed by him. Varsha

I literally don’t have the words to tell you how awesome Swagat and his team has been. It was the best decision to ask him to cover our special day(s). During our pre-wedding shoot they put us at ease from the beginning. We laughed lots and the photos were just fatabulous. Swagat Mohanty Photography did such an amazing job on our wedding day where they managed to capture so many wonderful moments. The photos are just out of this world and tell the story so perfectly. The best thing I have done so far is getting married to love of my life and the 2nd best thing was to hire Swagat for capturing the 1st best thing! He is superbly creative and dedicated. What I really love is how elegantly he captures each moment. Each photo taken by him is worth framing and flaunting! He kept sharing ideas which created a further comfort level. His team mates Prathik, Deba and AJ are equally talented. Hiding from some corner, hanging from someones roof, lying on dirty floor they made sure I get my dream photos. These guys literally don't sleep for weeks just so that we get the best shots anytime and everytime of the day! Truly glad that they agreed to be part of our wedding and travelled half of the country to be there! Also as promised they definitely made Patna look like Paris!

Found Swagat thru WedMeGood app & I must say I'm very lucky! Right from us to relatives, they are in awe with his photography. We clicked in the first meeting, he came to our office and we were completely bowled over his work. Be it shooting a weeding in a palace or shooting a function in a single room. We could see his passion for photography and perfection towards it. To put in simple words, he is one gem of a person who will work very dedicatedly for your event and even the team that comes with him (Pratik you were fantastic) has the same qualities instilled. He is just not a photographer, he is an artist. He is one perfectionist so he won't budge unless he gets the frame he has in his mind. Got my brother's pre-wedding shoot done with Swagat. Got to say he knows his work. He had proper idea of when the light is good for shoot. Poses he suggested were great. His editing was amazing. The best thing I liked about him was that he followed his timeline. We din't have to call him again and again for picture which usually is the case. He himself selected which pictures to edit and now when I look at the raw I can see that those were the best. It was great to get this shoot done from you Swagat. We will do a lot more work together

We booked Swagat photgraphy for our main function. The team was very profession and puntual. The team made sure to capture all our important moments. We were however not very happy with the final results of the images.

This guy is best in business for sure ... I love it when someone notice my photo in a picture and drop me a line telling me that click looks like some wallpaper . These guys know what they are doings , not like a guy just having a camera and ask you to pose . Again ,Swagat is someone has an idea of what he wants to do and than captures the moment in frame . I have always been a tomboy and doing the traditional wedding poses (read holding the Jaimala for 15 minutes on the stage) at my wedding gave me shudders. After searching for months for a photographer, and reading several reviews, I decided to go with Swagat. In Swagat I found a friend who made me feel comfortable and beautiful. To begin with all my questions, concerns, requests were answered within minutes/hours which was a huge plus considering I was based out of abroad and flying in for just 2 weeks for my wedding. While shooting the wedding, they were unobtrusive during the ceremonies and still managed to capture some amazing moments in the middle of all the craziness...Moments we didn't even know existed until we looked through all of our pictures. It's like we're reliving our wedding again! The photos turned out fabulous and I would highly recommend them to other couples. We already have a deal to do my maternity shoot in New York with him !Lol Thank you Swagat for capturing our wedding so beautifully!!!
