Modern Delhi Wedding With A Traditional, Classic Aesthetic

BY Sakshi | 17 Jul, 2024 | 1038 views | 3 min read

With everyone choosing modern trends and colour palettes these days, it is refreshing when we come across a tasteful wedding with a classic vibe. Sonia and Dhruv could have chosen to go down the contemporary route, but their Delhi wedding had this classic charm which is timeless. The bride wore red, the decor was in rich jewel tones and we loved how everything had a traditional touch, while still appearing modern. Now that's a vibe we'd like more couples to nail!

Meet Sonia and Dhruv

We met on a dating app in Toronto. We instantly connected and felt like we knew each other forever.

From The Bride:

Our wedding took place on September 3, 2023. The vision for our wedding was to create and unforgettable weekend that not only honoured our cultural roots but also provided an extraordinary experience for all our friends and family. Our Punjabi wedding was a blend of tradition with elegance, style and lots of glamour! We aimed for each event to have sophistication and class while ensuring a vibrant and joyous and very fun atmosphere that encouraged everyone to have a BAHL (ball) of a time!! The style of the wedding was to reflect traditional aesthetics with a color palette that incorporated rich, regal tones such as deep reds and gold. Each day of celebrations highlighted different aspects of Indian culture starting with a colourful mehendi ceremony followed by a Sangeet night that was a glamorous event filled with music, dance and performances! The wedding itself was spectacular, the mandap was filled with fresh flowered and traditional elements.

Vendor Reviews

Venues:

Mehendi - Fairlie Resort - It's a spacious venue with great food. We wanted a more intimate mehendi with just close friends and family.

Cocktail- Sanskriti Greens - It was a great property for the cocktail.

Wedding - Morbagh - It was a spectacular venue for the wedding as we wanted a lot of good food, lots of regal decor and that all came to life there.

I’m picky when it comes to hair and makeup and she heard me out and made me vision come to reality. She is patient and takes her time doing makeup and wants you to look 20/10 always!
