These 5 New Experiences For Honeymooners Are #Lifegoals!

BY Apoorva | 14 Jul, 2017 | 2034 views | 5 min read

Yes, we agree that honeymoon destinations and to-do things have gotten boring and monotonous over the years. Who wants to see the Eiffel tower so many times or visit the statue of liberty? So we asked the travel wizards, Bruised Passports to give us the goop on the newest, most interesting experiences couples can have on their honeymoon. And here they are - five spanking new ideas for those looking at offbeat travel this year.

“Here's the thing. People often gravitate towards luxurious beach holidays for their honeymoon. But not everyone has the same expectations from a honeymoon. Of course, you want your special holiday to be peppered with a generous dose of romance and luxury. But if you crave a bit of adventure on your holiday with your partner-in-crime (for life, no less!), then check out these adventures that every honeymooning couple should indulge in 2017!”

Paragliding in Nantou, Taiwan

If you enjoy adventure and going off the beaten path, then look no further. Plan a trip to Taiwan, a country that often gets ignored when it comes to travelling in Asia. When you are in Taiwan, make sure you go paragliding in Nantou, the hub of adventure sports in Taiwan. Flying like a bird over cities, temples, and lakes is an exhilarating feeling like no other.

But that's not all. The immediate vicinity offers tons of romantic activities for your honeymoon as well. Combine paragliding with a traditional oyster-based meal in Tai Xi or go coffee tasting in Yun Lin county. This hill-side destination, dotted with coffee plantations, is bound to seduce you.

Hiking Glaciers in Alaska, USA

If you enjoy cold weather holidays and love adventure, then you must go for a glacier hike in Alaska on your honeymoon. This is truly an once-in-a-lifetime experience. Here the journey is almost as fascinating as the destination. You need to book a short helicopter ride to reach the glaciers in question. It is easy to opt for a private helicopter ride, suitable for honeymooners. The ride will take you through gorgeous fjords and Alaskan wilderness before dropping you off at an icecap.

You can choose the length of the hike based on your level of fitness. Irrespective of the hike you choose, take your time walking around glaciers, taking in the sight of entire landscapes covered in ice and drink some ice-cold water from a little stream before boarding the helicopter back to reality.

Zip-lining in Manuel Antonio Natinal Park, Costa Rica

If you are craving a bit of beach bumming and lots of adventure, then Costa Rica is an ideal honeymoon destination for you. The country offers a great variety of things to do. Manuel Antonio National Park offers an idyllic mix of gorgeous beaches, amazing sunsets, and the rainforest. Where else will you find such a unique combination?

Spend lazy days by the beach but make sure you opt for a zip lining experience as well. This will give you that much-needed adrenalin rush on your honeymoon - zip across the lush Costa Rican rainforest as you observe rare wildlife and birds all around you. Truly an experience you won't forget for a long time.

Caving in Iceland

Iceland is the perfect honeymoon destination for those who enjoy road trips or photography. There is a marvel at every corner - waterfalls, volcanoes, geysers - you name it and Iceland has it!

But the most adventurous experience in Iceland has to be caving - this is no ordinary caving experience. In Iceland, it is possible to go caving inside volcanic caves made entirely of lava. You will see lava tubes and magma chambers in this surreal world below and come back with many tales to tell. This is not for the claustrophobic or faint of heart!

Bungee Jumping at Bloukrans Bridge, South Africa

This one is for the ultimate adrenalin rush of them all. If you are honeymooning in South Africa and spending your weeks in safari parks and beach front villas, then take a little break for a bout of adventure at Bloukrans Bridge. This bridge boasts of the world's highest bungee jump - yes that's right! The world's highest bungee jump, at 216 metres, is no easy feat.

Take a deep breath, and go for it. Just make sure you tell your partner to capture it all on camera - you'll definitely want to boast about this adventure to your friends back home. Once you're done with the bungee jump, wind down with a gentle picnic or a meal at the in-house restaurant at Bloukrans Bridge. This one is perfect for adventure sport junkies.
