#Trending: Is This The Best Sari Trend That Sonam Kapoor Gave Us in 2016?

BY The WMG Bride | 28 Feb, 2016 | 3178 views | 2 min read

Over the years, Sonam Kapoor did do us a few favours in terms of giving us great outfits and styling ideas for our weddings, sangeets and mehendis. Wondering what to wear and how to wear your sari? Ermm, Google Sonam. So this time, she once again upped the ante by giving us something that is surely catching up at weddings - the Double Pallu sari. Here's the low down on this piece of fabric draped so so beautifully. Wear it for your BFFs wedding or for your own regal reception - can be super fun! Sonam Kapoor in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla 1   What's a double pallu sari? Two pallus, literally. One that goes on your breast like an ordinary pallu drape. And the second one that drapes artistically around your neck. Aha, double dhamaka, looks like. But seriously, it didn't mean that it had two pallus - once was the normal pallu that is attached to the sari and the second one is just a smaller drape or dupatta in similar design that compliments the sari. 1453719865707_139_700237d0-7064-4569-9cdc-5fc712ba9559 Who designed this amazing concoction? We'll have to credit this to Abu Jani & Sandeep Khosla really. They custom-made these amazing saris just for Sonam. Also, these saris came with great blouses too - one had a tie-up blouse while the other had a lace blouse. both just added to the sari pallu beautifully.   How do I buy it without spending too much?  Well, if you can buy it at Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, then "lucky you". Otherwise, you can try this hack. Wear your normal sari and for the second drape, get a dupatta in a contrasting hue and add the border from the sari. Done! But try out different materials - if the sari is crepe, try a net dupatta. If it's chiffon, try a georgette one. This kind of look works only on smooth thin fabrics - Benarasi or raw silk and other textiles might just make you look bulkier! Tell us, would you try this outfit ever? We're dying to know!
