Wedding favours might be getting predictable but that doesn't mean that there's new inspiration just around the corner! In this modern age, favours stopped being about Indian or western things, but more like a mish-mash of the two resulting in amazing creativity. That's exactly why the muse of the moment for us is assorted cheese platter inside a mason jar as wedding favours. Now, that's something no one has ever done before and it goes off into hampers and bags with such glee even before your guests can say "cheese". What kind of cheese should one look for? The usual suspects are divided into soft, semi-firm, aged and blue. That means, feta, goat cheese and brie for soft. Cheddar, gouda and manchego are semi-firm while parmigiano is aged and blue cheese is gorgonzola or roquefort. In India now we have some amazingly unique flavours - Mango Hill in Pondicherry has curry-leaf flavoured cheese and cumin-flavoured one as well and there are ones that come with amazing herbs like the ones at Elefteria.
