Beware of Studio 149 - A Scam in the Name of Fashion I had a horrendous experience with Studio 149, and I feel compelled to share it to warn others about their deceitful practices. I purchased an outfit for my wedding from Studio 149, costing a whopping 98k, only to be scammed with an old demo piece of a half saree instead of the promised brand new set. Firstly, their prices are exorbitant, with clothes starting at 1L, giving the impression of luxury but delivering only disappointment. Despite paying the full amount, I received subpar service and a product that did not meet my expectations. To add insult to injury, they took a staggering 15 days to stitch just the blouse, while providing me with the same old skirt that comprised most of the outfit's cost. With only 4 days left until my wedding, they shattered my trust and ruined my schedule by delivering an outdated demo piece. Upon confronting them, they shamelessly denied any wrongdoing until the entire team finally admitted to their scheme of selling me an old product due to their lack of fabric and time. Their founder, Swarhi, residing in the UK, was inaccessible, and her mother's dismissive attitude only compounded my frustration. Despite having evidence in the form of phone recordings, the bill, and the old cloth, Studio 149 refused to take responsibility and offer a satisfactory resolution. They callously disregarded the impact of their actions on my wedding and showed no remorse for their deceitful behavior. Additionally, Swathi's mother discussed the matter with Swathi herself, exacerbating the situation by refusing to provide assistance and merely acknowledging the issue. This blatant disregard for customer satisfaction highlights Studio 149's unethical behavior and misuse of power in the fashion industry. It's appalling to witness such reprehensible conduct from the founder herself. Furthermore, their refusal to procure the necessary fabric and stitch a new outfit demonstrates their hypocrisy, claiming adherence to rules while shamelessly cheating customers with outdated products at full price. Studio 149 is undoubtedly a scam in the guise of fashion, preying on unsuspecting customers with false promises and substandard products. I urge everyone to exercise caution when considering their products and services. I am determined to take serious action against them and file a formal complaint to prevent others from falling victim to their fraudulent practices.

Swathi and the Studio 149 team designed the best outfit of my life for my wedding reception. We had all the communications done remotely over phone, messaging, and instagram. I learned about their Sakhi design on the Instagram page and instantly fell in love with their lehenga. I was looking for a kanchi lehenga that had the modernity of a quince dress while still rendering the beauty of a South Indian attire. Even though I’d admit their pieces come at a premium price, I can vouch for the professionalism, timely delivery, and perfect stitching they take care of for the attire. Huge kudos to Swathi and team for letting no geographical boundaries impact the beauty of her work and passion for design.

Got pavadai sattai and a dress stitched for my 9month old baby girl from studio 149, and trust me I haven’t made a better decision to get my baby’s first clothes done from. Vaishali was the one who helped me design and had it made so so beautifully even better than I had explained.everyone was so warm and courteous and made us feel at home. Got so many compliments for the dresses and I’m so sure every dress I get from now on is going to be from here :)

When we talk about wedding, it is always about flamboyant colours and magnificent jewels which scared me off a little, knowing I’m in a completely different direction. With so much thrill, I started my hunt for that one talented designer, whom I could trust and get my dream sewed as a fabric on my big day. And, I found one right under the name of @studio149. Swathi - being the founder and designer herself had all ears to listen to my requirements patiently and gave me so much confidence periodically on how it’s going to turn out. I was talking to her for a long time on the tiniest of details and mind you - when we finalised the design it was just all in the head and we had no eyes to see how it was going to look as an end product. When the day finally arrived to pick up the dress from store, I was frocking around the aisles like a retarded seal looking at the final outcome (Vaishali would have even thought I had seizures, LOL). Anyway, I couldn’t thank the team enough for bringing out the best and making my big day more memorable. So good to see such talents around. ❤️

The best place to get your unique designer outfit! The fit and the finishes are perfect and they make sure to get every detail right. Their designs are unique, classy and I love wearing their outfits to occasions. They Create their own design, style according to client’s requirement. They are against imitation/copy which has made them maintain their originality and uniqueness. I’ve been getting my outfits from studio149 for the past 5 years and I feel though the prices are a bit on the higher end, it is justified by their attention to detail and quality maintained!

I went there filled with dreams it was an absolute waste of money !! No proper communications, workers have internal politics worse management !!
