I chose The Candid Theory for my engagement and this is the only decision about my engagement that I regret. It has been 9 months since my engagement and I still haven't had all the final deliverables. What was bad? 1. Quality of the candid pictures: - The quality of the candid pictures are really bad. Of all the pictures that were given to us, I can hardly choose 20-25 pictures that are nice/decent. There is so much texture in most of the candid pictures and when I asked Dhruv about it, he told me that I need somebody who edits every single picture. All I wanted was some decent looking pictures. 2. Traditional photos and videos: - The traditional photos and videos have so much yellow tone that our faces on the stage look just yellow. TCT blamed the lighting of the place. I've known at least three other events in my family which took place at the same venue and the photos and videos are perfectly fine. The yellow tone was due to the focus lights from TCT which were not set properly and should've been corrected by the photographers. 3. Communication: - More than the above two points, the communication was the major issue. I've anyway given up on the photos. But even after 9 months, they haven't given me the candid video and traditional video with the re-edits. The owner Dhruv has promised numerous false timelines from the beginning but never stuck to it. I was extremely patient and empathetic for the first couple of months because the reason mentioned for delay was health related. But even after 9 whole months, I only get to hear reasons. The communication from Dhruv is unacceptable for me and I've been more than disappointed. In my opinion, if you miss a deadline a couple of times, it is still okay but if you miss it 20 times, it is sheer unprofessionalism. Also, my best friend chose TCT for her wedding (August'2022) and had a really bad experience too. She regrets the choice till date, just like me. I am sure there are some people who have had a good experience with them but I definitely wasn't one of them! I only wish I had done enough research before I chose them. Update on my review: After seeing the review, Dhruv texted me and said he will not give the other two deliverables (re-edits of candid and traditional) and that I can get it edited from whoever I want. Just so glad I did not choose them for the wedding :) -Sushma

Zero stars if I could. Please don't trust this company with one of the most important moments of your like. The company name makes zero justice. This professional photographer charging in the lakhs lost all our candid wedding photos (all events) due to a power surge in their office. This is 21st century and a professional should take measures. Its been 2 years this week, we don't have our photo album provided yet. No responses from the owner Dhruv who just ignores our call/msges. The owner is not at all professional. Please don't hire them

They did a very poor job with the pictures during the wedding - did not follow through on any of the promised work. did not focus on the families properly but instead took pictures of the dhol wala, dj and hotel staff (which makes no sense). Its been months and we are still to get the pictures.

Had no issues dealing with photo/videography team. sayanth and group did a good job and we faced no issues during the wedding . But the major issue is with Dhruv , who doesn’t pick your call or respond to any of your messages post wedding . Repeatedly wrong timelines are given and even after 9 months some photos are yet to be provided and candid videos were given after 7 months . All this would be fine if only there is any sort of communication from their side . Very disappointed.

Dhruv and his team did a wonderful job at my wedding - they are undoubtedly brilliant at their job. The best part of getting them on-board is that you can forget about the photos - they will ensure you find time to capture those moments (and not miss it in the hustle and bustle of the events). Go for it!

Haven’t come across better quality of work than Dhruv’s! There’s not a single soul from my wedding who didn’t absolutely LOVE the pictures. Also he’s a great guy to have at your wedding who wouldn’t make you feel there’s a photographer amongst you during the ceremonies 👌🏼

Dhruv and his team are brilliant! There is no better photography team out there when you need brilliant pictures on your big day with minimum supervision. My sister, the bride was stressed out, as is any bride and yet all her shoots are filled with only happiness and smiles. They make sure that its not just the bride and the groom who feel special but every other attendee gets amazing photos! Loved the candid theory! Highly recommended:D

The Candid Theory was in charge of my wedding photography back in June, 2016. They did the following events: Pre-Wedding Photoshoot, Mehendi, Sangeet, Varapuje, Lagna and Wedding Reception. The final product was fantastic! Though it took a while for us to receive the curated photos, it was totally worth the wait! The Candid Theory team did an extraordinary job of capturing candid shots of all the important, emotional moments of the wedding, unlike the staged photos that we normally come by. We know Dhruv Ashra personally and he was incredibly fun to work with, especially during the couple photo shoots. It was filled with laughter and he was able to capture the raw elements that showcased the bond between my husband and me. Dhruv has a fantastic eye for detail and his photographs are like pieces of priceless artwork! Definitely would recommend The Candid Theory for any kind of photoshoot as they do some really fantastic, quality work!
